Jamal Fogarty

Quite a few ex-Manly back-up or junior halves sprinkled around the NRL.
Latu, Humphreys, Metcalf, Weekes, Foz (!) Schuster, Hastings
All those home-bred halves, and we end up with a 2026 combo of a Leichhardt and a Beaudesert product...

Hopefully we keep Large and Walsh. I'm hopeful that we can keep them, unlike the former examples, as the club has seemingly turned a new leaf since Mestrov arrived. That said, I think Large will go back to union at some point.

We may be on the improve, or at least on something different, but we're yet to see if we can break that hoodoo and get back to back finals series, and a premiership.

So just say that he's 100% committed to Canberra this year and he'll be 100% committed to my new club next year. Not dismiss us as a business decision only and make it sound like it's all sh*t that I'm going there thanks.
I think I have seen him quoted as saying he is excited about coming to Manly or words to that effect. I think what you are basing your comments on is not the full statement.

So he's "gutted" to be leaving Canberra but it's purely a business decision. So he's not chosen Manly because he wants to play here and he's coming for the money only. Yep as I said a few weeks ago this will be a waste of money. We won't be getting his committed best and it'll be more of the same results. We could've saved half that money for a young half and spent it on a decent #8 or #9 or #12 , #13.
How to predict the NRL reaction though? Daly's a media darling, Galvin a media pariah? All slightly different but in common Fog is also a half who has declined a reasonable offer from his club some time out from the end of his contract. A difficult and somewhat unfair position to be in but I think he's navigated it well so far, especially compared to the other two. That being said, they (and Dylan Brown's) playing will continue to be heavily scrutinized until they leave.

No way Cade Cust is a first grader.
Humphries - yes.
People seem to forget the reason Humphries left was due to the talk of DCE playing on & no thought of retirement which, in turn, caused Humphries to go elsewhere as his future at the club remained uncertain. I think both he & the club were derailed by the talk of DCE extending, albeit with the Roosters!

…. I think Humphries left because he got a better offer.
