I really think Jake should have been rested by now.. Still carries most of the defensive weight, but when's the last time he cut anyone in half?? The first half of the season ppl wouldn't run at him because he would drive the shoulder into their guts and they would feel it for the next 3 weeks... Since about the origin period, he still gets his 30-40 a match but usually just grabs jerseys and drags them to the ground.. A week or 2 off I think would have seen The return of Jake the destroyer

you are such a punish man.

The reason you are on the nose with so many people is summed up in this post.

How nit picky do you have to be? A guy passes the football and it’s “ball playing elements” not “ball playing” because he doesn’t have enough artistry?

It’s a simple game mate. It’s not a study in semantics. Sure, Jake T is no Andrew Johns with the football, but he doesn’t have to be for someone to ask about his ballplaying...just label it simple or limited...ffs
If the game is so simple why does the same team always finish in the top 2 most years?

Just a lazy cliche response "It's a simple game" the hard part is breaking down the seemingly simple to understand how to become "effective".

That is why the Storm shytes all over other clubs because they don't rest on their laurels in limiting themselves to looking at the game in simple terms and break it down to its finer elements.

One thing they keep simple is effort and accountability----that doesn't require much analysis other than disciplined self management and a coach that leads by example. (the difference between a Bellamy/Des to a Barrett)

Watch the play on the wknd where it went a long pass from Fainu to chez, chez straightens and quickly to Walker, walker straightens and quickly to tom, tom then has space to pass to garrick and back inside to suli to score. This was a perfect example of our best ball players linking for a try. Jake is a great ball player but he is not our top 3. It looked so much more crisp with fainus wide ball to chez and our halves linking with Turbo out wide.
Would be great if we had a hooker who can deliver a crisp wide pass of consistent repeatable quality to offer this more direct option like a Ballin.

We do have one and he will be the starting hooker in 2020.

No offence to Api, but in 4 years at Manly his passing game from dummy half has at best only marginally improved.

Fainu's passing from dummy half is nothing special either but is still young enough to develop one.

Go through every pass from dummy half this year that Fainu has delivered and there is not much variety especially distance wise on show.(Api is the same but people seem to over-rate Fainu's abilities in this department)

The gap between Fainu and Api in the passing department is not as great as the gap between both their defences and work rate.

Fainu is ahead in the skipping around attracting defenders and offloading department which is what too many here are focusing on.

Lifts his defensive work rate, improves his tackling technique and overall intensity about his work and we have a good hooker.

The recent article on Fainu shows he is aware of the things that he needs to work on defensively and without a role model next year he really has to step up in this department.
