This is a bigger out than Cronk at this stage of the season. Attack takes time to click but 9's get the forwards over the advantage line and you can get ugly wins just being strong in the forwards. Pair that with Friend's work rate in D and it's easy to see why the Chooks will miss him.

I personally think that Api's injury was the biggest factor in our downward spiral last year...worse than the Barrett/Hastings saga; it was open season around the ruck for us in D last year. You could already see the positive impact of Api's D in the game last weekend. It's obvious but 9's are so so important.
