Jake Arthur

Then give him the 13 or 14 jersey Anthony !!

The unfortunate reality is that he's a better player than about 30% of the starting halves in the NRL so we have very little chance of keeping him

I certainly agree that Jake T needs to be moved into the prop rotation and out of 13. I'm not sure about Jake Arthur at 13 as I don't think he has the physical presence required and would need to bulk up during the off season.

I agree with Jake moving into the prop rotation, but I would rather see Croker at 13. He would essentially fill that Lawton role of backrower who can play hooker and, while I've defended him against a lot of the criticism he receives, I do concede a bit more zip out of dummy half would be beneficial to the team. Then, assuming we fill the 9 role internally, it comes down to Arthur/Simpkins/GKTC. I actually think with reports Jayden Brailey is being shopped around, that's an option we should be exploring.

And yet, watch Jurbo rolled out in the same role next year 🙄🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️
I wouldn't be so sure of that.

Whether you think he's a rep player or not, he's in the Kangaroos ( and Blues ) squad as a front rower.

Sieb's started to diminish his minutes this year so maybe the writing is on the wall.
The start at lock and move to front row without a rest for 80 minutes is good in theory ( about 2-3 years ago) but not in practicality.

Get quality 50-60 minutes out of him each week in the front row rotation should be the plan going forward imo.

Can Brown play a Choc type second rower role rather than a 13?

Although I was being cynical, I hope you are right for the sake of this team moving forward, Stu.

Only other 13 option and admittedly well out of left field again that i could suggest would be Talau .
Only based on the instance when he played or was named at 6 against Souths [ 2 nd game ] and did not seem to have an issue being a bit closer to the ruck and a good vigorous effort in the process .
More of a natural expectation to still keep him in the outside backs for most but just the definite need for an effective 13 and more scope for a regular position for Lehi .
Counterbalanced by the most likely requirement then to keep Garrick in the centres .
Guess the case in Talau 's 13 consideration , a fairly robust style of play in attack and defence , positionally looks quite adaptable and with a good range of all round skills and ability .
Possibility eventually with Navale there but, a lot of limitations with Jake T , Brown, Alioai and Jake Arthur going forward .
May seem a bit on the desperation side but can 't see the team improvement necessary without some major alteration at 13 , let alone a couple of other positions

Watched Jake play the two trial games and I am of the view his long term future in the game is in the forwards.

The coaches and development team got him over as a lock forward however they haven’t tried playing him there, that leg injury hasn’t helped his speed and it looks to me that it’s time for Jake to be given a chance there.
