Jack Bird ... WTF

Yeah but I can't see us dropping depth for bird. It will be a quality player out to get him in.

I met him in night club down south back in his last year with the Sharks in 2017 and he told me that he wanted to play for Manly but his manager told him that Manly did not have the money to sign him . Bennett came with a massive offer because prior to injury he was a dominant player
Before his injuries he played for NSW for 2 years at the age of 20 so the boy can play
The upside is that he comes at a much reduced price and he can play centre , 5/8 fullback and lock . The injuries he had are not career ending injuries and he is only 25.
Many athletes have made great comebacks from successive injuries . Attitude and determination plays a role as well .

If he wanted to play for manly he would of.. chased the big bucks in the end.

Not saying he didn't say it.. probably did but didn't follow it up unfortunately

I was at a Cronulla cafe a few years and about 8 of the Sharks players were having a coffee. All quiet and just chatting. Bird rocks up and acts like an immature git, disturbing the whole thing. Hard to judge someone by a minor thing, but I did. There are some players that have "hard work" written all over them. Jack Bird seems to falls in to that category.

I met him as well and he was the opposite of what you are saying . Maybe you saw another Bird ?

He can play football ... but $500k for a bloke that played 8 games in 2018 .. 9 games in 2019 ... and zero games in 2020 ... is a huge gamble and a lot of salary cap on top of the Foran gamble ..

Unless it is a diabolical plan to get a volume club discount on moon boots and crutches ....
Maybe they think Penn Health is a private health fund that will actually accept them with all their pre existing conditions!

He is definitely a great player when fit. I just don’t know if we can risk having him, Tom and Foran in the same team. Mind you, we’d go close to winning the comp if they stayed fit for a season

Was umpire Dickie Bird he dad or grand father.
