Neither was bellamy.. although he may as well beWell if you were a top line coach it would be a great destination , a 25 million centre of excellence , unlimited TPA’s, richest club in the league etc etc!!
BUT
They love their Queenslanders and he ain’t one!!
Hi - long time member but first time post. Brissie boy who played a bit of footie over the years including A Grade in Brisbane before the Broncos existed and a Qld High School rep. Manly supporter since 73! Anyway for what it is worth - my view of the big announcements next week will be - Madge is coach and will be signed for three years - they have agreed on a payout for Barrett, Cartwright will be Assistant and Matty Ballin might have a role, Centre of Excellence will be funded if Coalition returned in NSW, other vacant roles will be filled once Maguire is in place. I have no inside knowledge but also don't believe the Penn's are running this club to run last. We have a damn good squad with a few subtractions and additions. Letting Blake Green go was a shocking decision before Pearce was signed sealed and delivered - the Gladstone debacle derailed us and showed Barrett was just too inexperienced to handle that and he essentially let the players have free reign up there. Those two key mistakes ruined the season and the Salary Cap issue was just the final straw to decimate moral. Not everyone was on the Barrett bandwagon - some were - some were not - if all aren't rowing in the same direction the boat sinks and then when injuries hit we were goners. Barrett had to go because he did not have the full support and confidence of the players. I still think he will make a decent coach at some club. But yes not all doom and gloom like some of you on here think. If Maguire coaches - watch out - he wont take any crap and this will be a hard edged side with some steel to add to the attacking brilliance we have in spades. My two cents worth anyway. Thank you for the enjoyment over the years reading everyone's posts - I thought it was time to not just be a watcher but be a contributor.
Could just be a smoke screen, who knows or cares anymore. At this rate we may end up with Peter Sharpe back again. We are like that ugly bloke at a school disco hoping the girl he is in love with gets knocked back by the good looking blokes, hoping she gets drunk and then he can try and grab a pash when she is drunk, upset and vulnerable.
I reckon you should form a “Boom Junior Crew” Bearfax because you believe in giving the younger Manly contracted players a run in 1st grade.I could have been one of the Powder Puff Crew, but unfortunately at my age, I run out of puff too easily
Walters will do one more year of SOO, then take up the Broncos reigns imo.As for Madge, his ppl would be doing some ATO style due diligence before he even looks at a Manly contract. The Maguire situation as it stands has not really changed. I know he hasn't signed with us yet, in spite of what others have said they've heard. It is also incorrect to say that the Maguire to Broncos quote is a rehash. The reporter clearly states that he spoke to Madge yesterday. Sure, Madge might be speaking to Manly about a possible contract, but until he is offered an official contract to sign, he is hardly going to respond to a reporter (when asked the question on a potential job in Brisbane) with "no I am actually waiting on Manly to produce a deal because that's the only place I am interesting in going". Until he signs something, it is only logical that he would be open to other offers. I strongly doubt he is on the Broncos radar to be honest. I don't think they have ever signed a coach that wasn't previously part of their set-up going back to their inauguration in 1988. They will sign someone like Walters or Demetriou, who both have an intimate knowledge of the club's culture and set-up. They won't want a new coach coming in and potentially shifting their culture. Manly on the other hand, need just that!
Even Bellamy had worked at Brisbane before.

There was also the incident where an agitator ordered salad with their schnitzel. To my knowledge only one person has ever been denied access and membership of the PPC ..... and that was one numb-nut for the henious and unforgivable comment of saying Margot Robbie was only just OK .....
Me too ...... look what happened to @Stronger2gether ..... he messed with the PPC and has never heard from again. Coincidence? "They" the mods say he's banned but the conspiracy theorist in me says he's been knocked off by the PPC to subvert free speech.
