Is this Barretts last season as a coach ?

The Fox is a very very good finisher.

Doesn't mean Jack when the players inside him are not 1st grade standard.

See Chocritch as example #1.

Burton is in for a rude shock when he becomes the sole focal point of the Bulldogs attack, and opposition defences.

See DCE as example #2
I believe it is Chotchritchchch

Quote from the Kennel " I sort of wish DES had been made to stick around and see what he could of done with this **** show of a roster he was the catalyst of creating ".
So apparently its Des's fault that Barrett couldn't coach a cow to crap.

They SHOULD have a great team next year (and Barrett should have no excuses):
Here are the bones, and the options I'd have for them (and you NEED character buys):

01. Josh Addo-Carr
02. Nick Cotric
03. Brent Naden
04. Will Hopoate
05. Jayden Okunbor
06. Matt Burton
* 07. Benji Marshall
08. Luke Thompson
* 09. Apisai Koroisou
10. Jack Hetherington
* 11. Dale Finucane
12. Raymond Faitala-Mariner
13. Josh Jackson (c)

* 14. Kurt Mann
15. Dylan Napa
* 16. Dunamis Lui
17. Adam Elliott

Halfback: Benji Marshall (1 year) - cheap
Hooker: * See if you can pry Api Koroisou out of Panthers
Backrow: Dale Finucane (3 years) - pay anything
Utility: Kurt Mann
Bench Prop: Dunamis Lui (1-2 years) - cheap

That's a top 8 team, easily.

Depth Players: Corey Allan, Jake Averillo, Matt Doorey, Kyle Flannagan, Joe Stimson, Jackson Topine, Corey Waddell, Brandon Wakeham

Without those character leader types, he's done.

Plenty of people saying the likes of Barrett and Walters will be sacked after this season,I’d suggest they have no idea.Not many,if any,coaches takeover sides that are in a good position on field,hence why they’re in the job.They normally get the job with no time to make adjustments or hand pick their squad,so the first year is always about working out who they want to keep,who they want to get and what direction the club should head in.In Barrett and Walters cases,they have made some high profile signings for next year,whether people think they’ll be a success or not and they’ll start to offload those they don’t want.Their second year is the big one.Both teams are starting from a fairway back so turning them around will be tough but the first thing and possibly the easiest thing for a coach to do is to change the teams attitude and their desire to put in every week

I think he will be given to mid season next year. If they are close to the 8 he will survive, if they are bottom 4 it will be his last season there.

I think he probably is a great assistant coach but the step up to head coach is beyond his ability.

1 - dunno

2 - Would think he'd be at the Dogs next year due to the signings you mentioned and be told "well you now have all you asked for, pressure is on".

So my 'guess' is yes he'll be the head coach at the dogs next season.

I mean your question said coach...I answered as if you meant head coach of an nrl team. If he gets the boot he may coach some under 12 side somewhere...!
Poor kids .......

Over at the Kennel most of them are doing the same as we did.
Give him a couple of seasons or more. I gave him a couple of seasons but we were on the slide & I wanted him gone well before he went.

You'd think he would at least get 3 years to build his own team. That said if he continues to get pumped like on the weekend they may be forced to look elsewhere which is pretty slim pickings. Shane flannagan only option really

I felt sorry for the guy until he started claiming Manly,s current success as it is all his doing. I bet Des has a cramp from laughing so much at those comments... :giggle: :giggle: :giggle:
Bit like over on the Kennel a few of their posters were sort of sticking up for him in one of the many sack Baz threads and directly said ' he can be too bad he directly built that manly roster' please im going to be sick.

This will be the last Head Coach role that Barrett ever gets. As others have mentioned he just isn't up to the top job. In saying that we would walk into an assistant job immediately given his success in that role

I agree with the earlier comment that he’ll be given a number of weeks next season to show a real improvement or he’ll be sacked.

The bulldogs want results and will not wait forever.

Round 8-10
Hopefully they are winless to start the year.

Define coach.
A good coach is positive, enthusiastic, supportive, trusting, focused, goal-oriented, knowledgeable, observant, respectful, patient and a clear communicator.
How many of those traits does Trent actually possess?
Arguably hes never really been a coach by that definition. @:cool:

I thought the Dogs would improve this year just on the back of their recruitment, but their squad is performing worse now than last year even though it has improved on paper.

Barrett is an imposter. I'm enjoying watching him fail after his ineptitude cost us what should have been several good years.

A Bulldogs team on Silvertails!!! What is this ****-****ery? :banghead: This is almost at heresy level @Ryan @:cool: We should not be seen to help the Bulldogs under any circumstances, and after how Barrett left us we definitely shouldn't be seen to be helping him.
Disclaimer : This post response is definitely written tongue in cheek. 🙂

My mate at the dogs was pretty adamant that it’s not Barrett’s coaching that is the problem

There is potential in the squad for next season, the Dogs most likely will give him to mid season 2022 to prove his worth.
