Similar thing happened to Willie Mason, years ago he was in Maccas at the Cross and some goose started racially abusing him nonstop. Willie just ignored him but his brother Les was there too and “sorted” the other guy out.

Yeah happens all the time. Clubs are constantly reminding players to avoid certain situations, and to ignore dickheads looking for a response, but most of these guys are still kids, and are dead set baited constantly

The year before Craig Field joined Manly, I was with some mates at the well known Coogee Bay Hotel one night minding our own business. Craig Field and his mates sat down right next to us as if they were joining our group. One of my mates turned and politely asked "you're a footy star aren't you?". Field without responding a word, turned to his mate, whom then walked over to my mate and smashed him in the face. Footy players can be just plain dickwads. I admit, the question need not been asked, but there was no reason whatsoever to retaliate in that manner. DICKWADS!!

To be honest Walker getting the sack would be a decent outcome, he spent so much of last season injured and I struggle to recall many games where he has justified his price tag (in which I am including the opportunity cost of losing Gutherson to get him).

But it's funny ya know. Some teams flick potential (Flanagan) when they get a few chances and don't step while others persist with underperforming players and even re-sign them ~cough~

Also some teams turf repeat offenders, others extend contracts of players who are still err...sorting things out.

finally, some teams seem to sign players for the positions they are good at, other teams seem determined to bash that square peg into that round hole. Which is even worse when that square peg is a repeat offending ning nong.

All true... and I am going to make sure I add the phrase "ning nong" back into my lexicon of insults from this point on.

If Manly pass up an opportunity to get rid of him without needing to pay him out, then they're idiots.

He's played under 53% of the games in the last 3 years, he has had his chances and he is not worth the damage to the Sea Eagles he causes.

For a long time I've advocated for getting rid of Walker purely on his footballing 'ability'.
So for me, cutting him because of this latest embarrassment is a no-brainer.
