Is Mestrov really our Messiah?

IF Mestrov is the messiah then he will somehow find a way to right the ship between now and next season. Only way that happens is: some smart signings (FWDS), a change of coach and/or assistants. Time will tell.

Can't see the owners paying out contracts whether they be coaches, players or staff.

Someone earlier in the season posed the question: Is Manly the most frustrating team to follow? I nominated Doesn'tmatta and the 'Tits as even more skittish. I've changed my mind.
YES, Manly is the most frustrating team to follow. We've beaten teams currently:
1st, 2nd, 5th and 6th yet lost to teams 11th, 12th, 14th,16th and 17th.
No wonder we all are a bit loopy!
Bring on the cricket season.

Messy has Manly DNA. Many on here seem to think that is all that is required for every job at the club. Lol.

He appears to be one of the better ones Manly have ever had to me.

He might not be perfect but we have had some shockers in the last 25 years and he seems to have been our best in that time.
We have also churned through plenty too.

He has a hard job trying to sign decent coaches and players for a fair price, we have been a basket case under Penn.
No one wants to come here unless they are paid overs and until we start being a top 4 team constantly that won't change.
We should have been better managed to continue being a top team after where we were 15 years ago.

Out of all our CEOs in the last 25 years he seems the most likely to achieve that.

Mestrov is an absolute light weight. He's gone totally to ground while the good ship Manly is burning to the waterline at the moment. I personally would be happy to see the backend of all of them. Penn, Mestrov, Seibold, $CE and the Trbojevics provided we could find a ruthless win at all costs benefactor to take over from Penn who knows how to run a successful major sporting club.

Mestrov has been in the invisible man.
But what do you want? A CEO to go on NRL 360 and answer all the journos clickbait scuttlebutt? You think that would do anything to quell the media pile-on of Manly!??!!

Not that I'm any expert but I think Mestrov's been doing OK.
The only errors I can think of would be signing off on Schu's contract (and presumably he acted on advice of our brilliant recruitment team in that?) and the knee-jerk call to 360 with an offer to DCE (which at the time people suggested was probably at Penn's direction).

Then others say, that the phone call to NRL360 didn't happen at all. Its only Fox and their journos that keep bashing that line. Metsrov is doing exactly what he is told. I believe, he is just the puppet for Penns board. That is why we have had so many, they get sick and frustrated with it.

Agreed. He made all the right noises originally, but has been a bit of a disappointment since then. Remember the plans to broaden our recruitment areas to the central coast, NZ etc? If anything, we seem to have shrunk our recruitment universe down to a few player managers. I still hold out some hope, but how he deals with the coaching situation from here will be key.

The Central Coast/NZ recruitment areas were long term projects, not an immediate gold mine

Too many on Silvertails & Media think they know what’s going on at Manly hierarchy level. Everyone offers an opinion as though they’re privy to what’s happening in the background. I don’t think anyone other than those high up have any fu<king clue! All I see is $hit constantly piled onto the coach, most players, CEO etc. Seems NO ONE is good enough to wear Maroon & White. Seems NO ONE is good enough to run Manly. Whoever the club signs is $hat on before given a chance. Too many self appointed experts that think they know how to play or coach a team actually know jack$hit!! No wonder Silvertails has become depressing………
