Interesting, where did you hear that? Some word on Lawton, he may be fit for round 9.

I just hope Des uses Lawton and Cust at drops Croker! But with Des, who knowsSome word on Lawton, he may be fit for round 9.
yes there is more gang tackling - more muscly body types and yes back in the day leg tackles were gold. Still think you can chop today's players down pretty quickly with a great grass cutting legs tackle. I also still think that with the tall guys you could still put a shot on into the midriff/ball and drive up into the chest if any of them had any idea how to do that. Jake and Victor Radley about the only two who can do it. A lost art sadly but I am certain still viable in today's game.My theory on why there are so many injuries, compared to yesteryear, is this:
Tacklers these days are intent on hurting their opponent, not simply bringing them to the ground. They go high to wrap up the ball, so collisions are greater. And there is much more gang tackling these days. Have you noticed the number of head clashes this year?
When I was playing my aim was to tackle around the legs and allow the momentum of my opponent to do the rest, toppling over like a tree without its roots. The great exponents of this technique included Ima Martian, Alan Thompson and Beaver Menzies.
There will always be leg injures (knees, ankles hammies, groin strains) because at pace these limbs are not created to be suddenly stopped or twisted.
I also believe that being muscle-bound, rather than lithe, leads to more impact injuries.
If he is found guilty next month I doubt this will even matter as he will be gonnnne! Apparently the prosecution has 17 witnesses to support their case while Dylan has only 3.Can anyone work out how many matches/percentage that Dylan Walker has missed during his well-paid stint with us? I'm expecting it to be just as alarming as Turbo's absences.
ok roughly 66% 86 matches out of 130.Can anyone work out how many matches/percentage that Dylan Walker has missed during his well-paid stint with us? I'm expecting it to be just as alarming as Turbo's absences.
This plus injuries to a few that don't really deserve their spot and will force Des to give some youngsters a go. Things are looking up all of a sudden. If he is found guilty next month I doubt this will even matter as he will be gonnnne! Just to clarify: Walker has played just 34% of potential matches for Manly?ok roughly 66% 86 matches out of 130.
at least the prosecution didn't invoke the 18th person in case of a concussion. If he is found guilty next month I doubt this will even matter as he will be gonnnne! Apparently the prosecution has 17 witnesses to support their case while Dylan has only 3.
I can't see any upside to Walker, and I never have. He came to us as a budding champion but I can count on one hand the number of outstanding games he's played. So it’s back to pick on Walker again I see.... yawn zzzzzzzzzzzzz. The guy has played out of position for the past 3 years, has given his all, gets injured playing for us & he gets bagged. Makes laugh to be honest. Can’t wait for the announcement that he’s re-signed long term. It’ll give me much reading enjoyment as it gets stuck right up some people’s ar$es lololol!
He’s done pretty well under circumstances & he was great when he joined. Not saying he’s an angel but when people take to him like he’s a disease I’ll stand up for him. His injuries haven’t helped as has his selection out of position. 2019 he showed what he’s capable. But hey Tom & his brother are worth every cent for doing SFA in Jakes instance & Tom who’s our most injury prone player & has had a handful of good games. But yeah agree everyone has an opinion.I can't see any upside to Walker, and I never have. He came to us as a budding champion but I can count on one hand the number of outstanding games he's played.
The fact that he only plays one game in three, and has brought shame on himself and the club on at least three separate occasions, compounds my opinion of him.
But I respect your opinion, so I'd love you to remind me of occasions when he starred for Manly.
I remember a win against Easts on the bell. I think Kelly put him through a hole right at the end. I’m sure there are other good moments. I just can’t think of any.I can't see any upside to Walker, and I never have. He came to us as a budding champion but I can count on one hand the number of outstanding games he's played.

I think they will resign him as well. But the injury means they will get him now at a bargain basement price. So it’s back to pick on Walker again I see.... yawn zzzzzzzzzzzzz. Also agree he is a dill off the field and if that will be an ongoing issue - get rid of him. BUT - he is a quality centre who has been constantly played out of position because he is versatile and out of need. If we could just leave him at centre - he is by far our best centre. Light and day between him and the next best in the club.So it’s back to pick on Walker again I see.... yawn zzzzzzzzzzzzz. Yep. I remember that try to. A beauty. But like you I can't remember many other highlights, except he did kick a goal once to win a match with Canberra.I remember a win against Easts on the bell. I think Kelly put him through a hole right at the end. I’m sure there are other good moments. I just can’t think of any.
If he is found guilty in court? Shirley you must be joking.I think they will resign him as well.
