Injures

" Winger Jorge Taufua missed the game against the Broncos with a quad injury and is not expected to return to the round seven clash against Cronulla on Sunday, June 28 at Central Coast Stadium. "

Maybe they need to remove the "not" part if that's the case.

RE-WRITE supremacy!

This injury update from the NRL site. So in an ideal world Marty and Siro will be good and we just have to replace Suli. I'm not a Missy Elliot fan, he tries hard but isn't a big enough body for centre IMO. Although he'd be spotting up on Croker and Whitehead which isn't the toughest defensive mission in the NRL thankfully. But Wighton is the main danger on the Canberra left edge. If Siro doesn't play then we are looking at an untried RHS defensive pairing against their dominant running attack.

Not sure what the best option is - push Garrick in and put Elliot on wing ? or play Funa at centre and Elliot goes to left wing - big ask though for a rookie in his second game. There are a couple of left field options too - The Phantom goes to centre and Croker plays 6. Or if you want to get real crazy play Turbo at centre and Elliot at 1.

I'm leaning towards Walker to centre and Croker to 6 as my preferred option.

Meanwhile, the Sea Eagles are hopeful prop Martin Taupau can play next week despite suffering a dislocated left thumb early in Manly's win over Brisbane on Thursday.

Taupau left the field eight minutes into the contest, while centre Moses Suli will be sidelined in round six with the club announcing on Friday he underwent surgery on a fractured finger and would be out 1-3 weeks.

Taupau (thumb) and Curtis Sironen (bone bruising) will be given every opportunity to recover for next Sunday's stoush with Canberra at Campbelltown.

If we are without Jorge and Suli the backline looks quite weak up against a full strength Raiders. I like Croker to 6 and Walker to centre and either Funa or Elliott to cover Jorge if needed. Cust or Schuster to the bench
Walker to center. Cust to 6. Croker and Levi rotate at #9 20 min each half if injuries allow it. Hope Sirro and Taupau play because Waddell was ineffective and Paseka is struggling with the pace.

Con hasn't played since before the lockdown - that concerns me. So if we do move Walker than I'd prefer Frog at 6.

Fatigue and match fitness seem more important now with the 6 again rule, so do we want to be trying to carry Cust for 80 minutes without many miles in his legs. He may be better coming off the bench and rotating Croker through the 9 to spell Levi

As much as I’d love to see Schuster or a proper 6.
Don’t think it’s sound to change the defensive structures for only 1-3 games.
Like for like replacement. Elliot is quite elusive one on one. Watch the Tigers game last year when he was in the centre’s. A few clean line breaks with his footwork and he also stood up Josh Morris last year for a try. Which is quite the achievement.
