What is he on this year 1.1M?
I think there are probably 3 or 4 on bigger money than that, especially after TPA's, namely Cronk, Thurston, Dogboy, Slater, maybe more.

Agree we are paying him too much and on the 2020 optimism though mate.

I obviously have no actual idea but I thought 1.3 according to media? He has been named highest paid player by the media. But he is a VERY good half, and I haven’t lost hope for this season yet!

Very good point. Having dead weight nate on 600k long term has been a handbrake on our pack, we are very lucky AFB has stepped up.

The 5/8 issue Walker experiment crippled us 2 years ago and the 5/8 Croker issue will cripple our season again if we persevere with him and become the Stereotype predictable Sea eagles .

Croker is 10 times worse then Walker, Tapau is a better player today along with our forwards, Dylan was pushing Sh....up hill the way the team was set up hagglers for forwards piss weak centres not even Dce could make an impression

in Dylan's defence as 5/8 Tapau was a fraction of the player he is now. Apart from jake the rest of the forwards were useless.
As were the centres if I remember correctly Dce was struggling .
(Seems like everyone has forgot that)

Indexed to the salary cap. So as the salary cap increases so does his wage. He gets a fixed percentage of the cap

G Stewart leaving had nothing to with DCE - Toovey signed off on it during the days of two owners and infighting.

Foran and Watmough thought Toovey was a crap coach and wanted Brad Arthur to coach- so they posioned and lied to Manly with the full intent of going to Parra.
B Stewart supposedly had some issues but never left Manly.
Ballin was tossed aside by Bozo.

Hastings has a track record of being sacked from two previous clubs.

Remember DCE never wanted to leave Manly, but the lying pos Foran strung Manly along when he was always going to Parra.

100% correct, would some of the fans complaining about DCE prefer Kane Elgey, because it was almost on the cards.
As much as I think Brett Stewart was Manly's greatest fullback, [and I grew up seeing Eadie as well], the only reason he didn't leave the club was for the simple reason that at that stage of his career no other club would have been interested in him for the same money that he was with us.
In regards to Matt Ballin, fantastic guy, however the writing was on the wall, it's hard to come back to the same level after having an ACL in your 30's

We made a rod for our own back in 2015, No player should ever get a contract of that length!! It really restricts us moving forward, DCE is a solid player and on his day he is right up there with the best of them. Consistency continues to be his Achilles heel especially making the right decisions in the clutch moments. he is a bit rocks and diamonds in that regard. I personally want to see DCE just focus on his own game, Like it or not we might need Hastings at some stage this year. We need to use every bit of our roster, banishing one player is counterproductive, Barrett has to get them on the same song sheet and together for the team!!
