I wonder if DCE is the man?

At the time he was close to the first million dollar man ( although prior to that Lockyer, Smith, Thurston would have been on more) but now it’s about average for a superstar of the game.

Come on Mark can you really compare those guys to DCE? Is he a genuine superstar? Look at there stats, look at Dce. Not even in the same ballpark.

Dce is a good player, most certainly not a superstar. And 100% not worthy of his price tag and the length of contract, regardless how it came about.

DCE is a very talented individual who when he is on his game, he is up there with the best. Consistency has been his achillies heel for far too long.

I dont see him manage tight games effectively consistently, too many flashy and low percentage options in recent times!!

Our current dirty laundry suggests that there is a clash between DCE and Hastings and the fall out is that the players dont want Hastings in the side. I find this really sad, come on fellas, you are supposed to be professionals!! It illustrates the lack of leadership we are seeing and our coach needs to deal with this before it totally destroys team harmony!!

I personally would like to see DCE just focus on his game!! I think the decision in 2015 to spend that amount of money of DCE was wrong personally as he is not worth that amount of money. This is his biggest test as a player and captain!!

It's only my opinion but I feel as though people are judging Chez on the first 6 weeks of 2018 only...

Last year, Daly earned every penny of his contract. He had equal try assists and won 3-4 games with clutch plays including pulling that game from the fire against the Warriors in NZ.

He is a creative half and that is something that a lot of clubs simply don't have. You have to grab that creative instinctive half when it's available. They are worth more than organising halves on the market. When you consider Moses is on 900k a year at the Eels and Austin is commanding a 700k extension at the Raiders, Milford on a mil, etc. you can see why Chez is a million dollar half.

The problem is not that he can't organise the team and steer them around, he is not being paid to do that. He is being paid to be creative and help us put on points. He can't do that while ever there is a 5/8 who cannot do the organising. We've said it before and Milford is having the same problem with Brisbane.

Chez will earn his mil when the 6 outside him (and the forwards) is doing his job.

You could be critical of him for not being able to do both but (a) only one or two special players in the competition can do both and (b) wanting him to play in a way he doesn't know how is not the answer to Manly's conundrum; a decent 5/8 on the other hand, is!

We pretty much all admire the great bob fulton. When he was coach it was well publicised during superleague he had a massive fallout with ridgey. Ridgey decision to scurry and comments pissed bozo and reporedly some of his team mates

There was even stories that ridgey didnt train with the team due to some issue around this decision and subsequent clash, but bozo kept picking him to play because he was the best option for the team

You have to admire that steadfast approach to the end goal of winning games and comps.

Hastings was good on field for the team.

He was hated by our old guard. a team of champions that took us to a decade of domination no less. But what the fuc$ would they know?
Can’t get in to qld cause he’s hated by the senior playing group.At least 2 immortals in there.

Now he’s got players putting one on his chin. A Manly Captain!
But none of it is his fault right?

There is not a single half in the game who can do it all on his own. It is a team game after all

I do agree with that to a certain degree Buzz. And Greenturd most certainly has an agenda against us.

But if we did land Pearce, we probably be left even shorter in other areas in years to come.I think we are short on a quality winger, centre, back rower and prop.

The 5/8 issue Walker experiment crippled us 2 years ago and the 5/8 Croker issue will cripple our season again if we persevere with him and become the Stereotype predictable Sea eagles .

Your boy wonder had his grubby little hands out for a pay rise after one season!! That’s a fact!! One season!!

As for the new core? Once again money boy has had a hand in our fuc$ ups. We purchased Myles on the back of his friendship with moneyballs , great move that one. This is HIS core, and it’s mediocre......

I think he is one of the best halves, and I support our Captain, but he has some form now, Toovey gone, Foran, Watmough, Stewart x 2, maybe Balin? Brought Miles here as his BFFE... Now Hastings... No state of origin, I'm starting to wonder about our $10mil investment. Did we get it wrong from the get go?

All we got wrong is the price mate, and we can thank Joke, Bozo and Penn for that. I wouldn't swap DCE, but **** I would love to renegotiate his salary cap killing contract a bit more favourably. I would hate to have to wait 8 more years until we can afford a 5/8th again.

He is a very good half but it’s hard to argue we are paying him way too much. He’s the highest paid player in the game in the same era of future immortals. Don’t blame him, who wouldn’t take it. We are still paying the price this year for the **** show of a few years back on several fronts. But unlike many here I trust in baz and we have some talent coming through, still think we have potential in the next year or two.
