It's the curse. This is what happens when you leave this great club. Everything and everyone turns to well like the Eels...crap

It seems so.
I think that would be a good thread. How many post Manly success stories are out there.
I can't think of many.

With the squad he has had available at the Dogs, Des has probably over achieved every season he has been there so far. Personally don't think he will ever lose that aura, hasn't missed a finals series since 04, that's an amazing run

An example of not losing an aura while not performing is Wayne Bennett. Can't get a Brisbane side with absolutely everything in its favour over the line, and the last 2 clubs he has been at, he has left in a terrible state. He is a huge part of the reason Newcastle are about the worst side of the NRL era but that's gets swept under the carpet

Mate, you are entitled to your views but they are stale. You have made your point (which was my point). You now hijack every single thread with the same old crap. It's boring. Can't you read? You really are a dickhead. If I am in a camp the only one I am in is the camp where Manly wins the comp. You are officially ignored by me.
Dude quotes his own former user name and carries on a conversation with himself. Don't waste your time. But I agree the place is infected with his ridiculous and delusional musings.

I don't know if I'm still on his ignore list. I hope not because now he can spend the rest of the night scouring old threads to find something I said in 2012 that he thinks proves himself as the 'one true king' and manly martyr.

At a million a year since he joined the dogs...and a three year extension....8 mill ? Not only can he live on it ....his kids can live off it....he will have a job somewhere whilst ever he decides he wants to coach in the NRL....then theres England.

Where Des is open to criticism is that he has been there long enough and he has the team he recruited ... he's not coaching somebodies leftovers.

On the other hand Barrett (and Bozo) are working with a 2nd hand squad and bargain buy specials due to salary cap issues. Got to hand it to them.

Apparently referring to Barretts coaching history and declaring him an idiot is OK on this forum .

Reviving Fultons history in SOO stretching back over ten years ( while ignoring his massive success in other capacities ) and calling him a fool and a silly old pensioner is OK also.

But commenting on what someone on this forum said this season is way out of order because they could get a little bit cranky is not OK?

Abusive declarers of the the future ducking for cover when they are exposed .

Is it acceptable to quote the past on this forum , or are some posters protected from this because it's not fair ?

A few posters on here seem to specialize in dishing out unsolicited , abuse and very , very, very poor advice to Barrett , Bozo and other posters but they don't seem to understand that they are clueless.
Can you give it a rest for a while - it's very boring.

Angry Bulldogs supporters continue attack on Des Hasler ahead of Dragons clash

ANGRY Bulldogs fans have started a petition to get Des Hasler sacked in the countdown to Monday’s crucial clash against the Dragons.

In what’s shaping up as another dramatic week for one of the game’s most distinguished coaches, Hasler’s 14th placed Bulldogs will be desperate to snap a four-match losing streak against the 3rd placed St George Illawarra at ANZ Stadium on Monday.

That will be followed on Tuesday night by what’s expected to be a highly emotional members’ forum at the Canterbury Leagues Club, where supporters will get to put their frustrations to Hasler and the club’s hierarchy.

It also emerged yesterday that disgruntled fans had set up an online petition on the website change.org calling for Hasler’s job.
The petition addressed “uninspiring” and “underwhelming performances”, and read in part: “We the club members and fans are tired of the excuses and false promises. It’s time to change for the better. Remove Des Hasler immediately!”

The petition also called for the reinstatement Bulldogs legend Steve Mortimer who stood down from the board last year after speaking out against Hasler with what the petition termed “accurate commentary”.

While Mortimer took it upon himself to resign, his public comments were frowned upon by chairman Ray Dib who labelled it at the time “out of order”.

That point was not missed by some supporters in recent days who have questioned Dib’s unprecedented campaigning in the media following his controversial dressing room intervention after the 38-0 pounding by Penrith.

Dib continued his defence of Hasler yesterday and also conceded his own position could be under threat at next February’s board elections.

“I know there is rumblings in the background,” Dib told Triple M.

“I know some of the old boys are getting together and that is fine, it is their constitutional right.”

While there is next to no chance Hasler will be sacked given he was handed a contract extension this year and has Dib’s full support, the petition illustrates the growing unrest among members and supporters.

There is no doubt many fans believe Dib and the Bulldogs board jumped the gun re-signing Hasler because of a fear they could lose him to a rival NRL club.

The irony today is that Hasler was said to be in line to take over from Paul McGregor at the Dragons.

McGregor only signed a contract extension last week as a reward for his team’s surprising charge up the NRL ladder this year.

Hasler yesterday told the media that the players understand last week’s performance against Penrith was “not acceptable”.

“The playing group is pretty strong and they understand the ups and the downs,” Hasler said.

“They understand what needs to be done and I know they are looking forward to getting out there and executing it.”

Hasler also gave this message to the fans: “I understand fans are very passionate and particularly the Canterbury Bulldogs.

“But stick with this side. Stick with these boys.

“They know what is required and we will turn it around.”

A members forum huh.

If it were us there'd be a lot of sausage rolls eaten!

If Des turns up he'll be on maximum calf's blood and pickle juice just to survive.

However....it's nice to see a club that has all the pokie money in the world still unable to get things right. lol @ dogs
