Good choice! To be fair the club must have had the choice (cap wise) between Thompson and Hodko

and remember the choice wouldn't be 100% his ... Newcastle have to agree to release him ... if Cronulla offer to pay say $350k of his contract and we only offer to pay say $250k of his contract .... Newcastle would be saying you're going down to the guppies boy.Yeah, I wonder if it came down to the fact Cronulla can get him now so he has some preseason with them v not knowing for another few weeks whether he can even come to us and have no preseason.
Are you sure you are at the right forum? Lot of people going down.No different than Pearce going down at the Knights.
Cronk going down at the Roosters.
Milford going down at the Broncos.
The majority will struggle if there are injuries to the marquee halves.

Always to the gutter Spartan... Always to the gutter...
Sorry. I think it's the off-season syndrome. When you don't get any action your mind reverts to the cave man mentality. Well for me anyway.Always to the gutter Spartan... Always to the gutter...
Yeah I heard they're joining the silvertails tipping competition. 😉At least Pearce, Cronk and Milford are givers and not takers .....
Depends whether we've submitted our salary cap response by then. 😉Was hoping we could get him for cheap, I wonder if we could afford to make a play for Cleary in 12 months
Am I right to assume that if you don't spend up to your full salary cap that you don't get to spend it the following season.

The only difference will be the smart coach that plans ahead and signs an experienced back up .No different than Pearce going down at the Knights.

The morel of this story is......
Fail to plan
Plan to fail
In NSW Cup that is!Hodko is the 4th string half for the Sharks , good luck with that!
I think the writing must be on the wall for us getting a cap penalty for this year now, but I'm ok with our current squad anyway.
If by some miracle we have any cap left after Greenburg reams us up the arse, maybe we can sniff out Carney if Croker and Hastings can't get it done.
Maybe not this year but we can put one in the oven for next year . History has proven that no one can keep the Sea eagles down for too long before they rise to the top again .Greensprog has made sure that there is no ****ing cake.
