This is going to sound bad and i am sure it will be a robust debate but I have been watching the 95 game v brisbane at brookie oval. Haslers play out of dummy half is very reminiscant Monas. A few runs to the line dance about throw a pass. Of course Hasler was absolutely spades above monas, but there is a definate hint of style there.

Anyone seen the game lately and know what I am talking about

On another note, faaaarrrkkk this team was confident back then, I think we could be as good as back then (maybe not defensively) its just a matter of confidence really....... man I am stinging for the new season, i wish the club ran as well as it did back then too!

They were confident because they had 1/2 of the Aussie team in the side!

Arko and Bozo what a combination!

I think that monas could do quite well at hooker after watching Hasler play there, there were some oft very stark similarities between their style of play

Hasler wasn't a creative player.

So I get your point. They both take the line on and tough.

I think comparing Hasler to Monas is a bit like comparing a Ford Escort to a Porche. No offence but were you drinking heavily when you came to this conclusion?

usually.

I didnt say they were equal in skill, I said in Hooker they had very similar styles of play.

Watch manly v Bisbane at brookie oval in 1995 and you will see some very monas moves, only htey come off more often than not with hasler.

The main difference between the 2 is that hasler knew when to take on the line and when not to, he read the game beautifully, which monnas does not do so well

Which is why I dont understand why others continue to debate Monas being in the No 6, when it seems he is better suited to the No 9 ?

It has me scratchin my head !
