The issue is obviously the damage they might have inflicted if the tackle had gone completely wrong. Today’s suspensions are nothing compared to the ones Jim Comans was handing out 40+ years ago.

If the worst case scenario is indeed two games per player, well then at least we might get to see Jakob Arthur again in first grade, or even young Humphreys. Other clubs have given young halves a crack this season, so why not Manly?

As for the other bloke, until he starts winding up for strong runs rather than standing starts, with some defensive nous thrown in, he will only ever be 50-70% of the player he could be.

If we play fast and direct we get them DCE or no DCE.
