Half Solutions for 2016

Id like to see use buy Pommy Myler from Warringotn as Half and blood one of our under 20s as 5/8 towards the end of the year going in to next year
 
Totally agree as mentioned in another thread he has the experience looks like a capable playmaker with good organisation skills and more importantly wants to prove a point here !
 
our options:
Myler: as someone said, super league half to nrl half is a massive step, but id give him a punt, he seems quality in the super league at least and theres many worse options.
Travers & Pearsall : travers should definitely be given a couple games at least this year and next, hes 21 and could possibly be ready for nrl next year
Nikorima Brothers: we should go in hard for them, isnt jayden nikorima a halfback? kodi seems class from what ive seen at least despite them trying to play him as a backup hooker
Cornish: a backup option but seems like a bright talent, id give him a go but would prefer the above 3 options
Townsend: probably one of my favourite options, hes raised his game massively this year and has out performed johnson
I dont know much about ashley taylor (that his name?) in the young kangaroos, he must be worth a look at?

i also wouldnt mind if we contacted jarrod mullen, hes a better option than all of the above, might as well give it a go
same with luke brooks, highly doubt hed leave but worth a try, and maybe even moses mbye

also i reckon gutho or hiku could possibly go good in the 6, whats your thoughts on tom t playing five eighth?

I like Cornish at 7 and townsend at 6?
And hell no, Tom T will be our next fullback for years to come, next prince of brookvale
 
at the same time though i think only one half is neccessary, as hiku/lyon/gutho could play 6 and riley travers could go into that role when hes ready
 
I confess I don't quite get that the current winning State of Origin halfback is so despised. I realise he isn't playing well, and his knee injury history means he will never have the running game of a DCE.
But he still ticks a lot of boxes.
For starters, he is not a defensive liability, and there aren't too many halves who can say that.
Second, he is one of the best goal-kickers, and also a noted one point specialist.
He has experience at the highest level - Origin, grand final.
If he stayed fit, he would be a reasonable option. Face it, whoever we get will be inferior to DCE.

If there are no halves available, as a temp measure, think outside the square and mould another player into one. :nod: Hodges can be a temp solution for one of those spots. Maybe even Wolfy now that he has learnt how to kick. He seems like a very adaptable dude. :rock: And he doesn't cost that much. The rest of the money can be used for re-building for the future.

I have the Manly faith that we can get back to the top again and soon.

Don't think Chez was a local junior. Not sure about Hodgo.
But I have faith in Bozo.
 
He is despised coz he doesn't take on the line, he isn't creative and apart from kicking the odd field goal, he wouldn't win a match for us. If he can't dominate behind a pack like the dogs and the space that affords him. Then he will do even worse for us.

Hey guys and girls don't even consider DCE he will not turn turtle has been told by smith and nrl he will never play SOO or for Australia if he turns, he does not want that so will stay at titans, its about time we realised he wont be here in 2016 but he is giving his all while he is here I hope it rubs off on foran then we might have a chance as we are only 2 wins out of the eight and plenty of games to go rest assured we do have plenty of juniors out there that have not been graded and its about time that they get the opportunity
go the mighty eagles top 4 not beyond you again

If this is true, Chez could sue them for workplace harassment 😡
He only signed for 2, so could be back in 2018 if the Titans are going bust again 😛

I find that hard to believe. He would be picked on form not what club he has decided to go to. I think we're all jumping at shadows on this matter. Time to move on now.

I agree imagine QLD listening to Dave Smith if qld wanted to pick DCE they would pick him no matter who he played for.

Also Bozo is an Aussie selector I can imagine him being told what team to select.
 
any half that comes to our club will be nurtured by the best in the business, say what you want , Andrew Johns was the best half back in the game period.... You say Sandow and others are crap, but what if they turn into machines under his tenure ... you never know
