Groundhog Day - seen it before....

Every season before a ball is kicked the opposition fans & media gang up to try to dismantle the Manly club, players, coaches , staff & even your toddlers if they are in a Manly beanie!!
Sure its not the perfect situation 2 weeks away from kickoff, but EVERY other team has its own issues from drug problems, internal personality clashes & god forbid, other NRL teams actually have their own players negotiating a better future, but the dirty laundry is hidden behind closed doors for 2 reasons...
1 - Everything that happens at Manly is blown out of proportion 10 fold,,,,
Manly due to its success almost every year, has every opposition fan wanting to replicate it, unfortunately pride & passion are not for sale & usually when players leave Manly, so does the burning desire within.
2 - Take it as a compliment, the media are smart enough to know issues at Manly will sell more papers such is the respect for them in the rugby league community.
Still don't think DCE handled it great, but still a young bloke who can be afforded the odd mistake, most people make a few, just don't get chased around by cameras at the time....
Agree we want clear cut answers sooner rather than later, but they still could well BOTH sign & by round 5 looking good & finding form.....this could all be another groundhog day at Manly & maybe we are over reacting - remember - "We hate them too" so stick solid hey.

Well feb 2 is groundhog day.
Good points though Maxta. So much of what we talk about is innuendo and media nonsense. Reality is far from the articles we read.

It's alarming how DCE and his world tour has us turning against each other on here. The silvertails forum has been a crazy f****** place the past few days.

I think we all forget (myself included) that they are 24/25 and need to make a huge decision. Could it have been handled better by both parties? Absolutely. But I believe the club has learnt many lessons from this whole drama and they will be better for it in the long term.

The sooner this is over the sooner we can get back to talking about footy. We have all spent so much time on the "will they, won't they?" That we have all gone insane. I am taking the whatever happens, happens mentality. We always have been successful and will continue to be (to quote a one Geoff Toovey)

Bring on 2015 and go the mighty Manly Warringah Sea Eagles!!!
