Hi Fred
Sorry to hijack your thread but i didnt think this warranted a thread of its own so Ive put it here
I'm a St Helens fan from the UK and have had a season ticket since I was a kid. I'm now in my 40s and I'm heartbroken at what the RFL have done to the game over here. Multiple sin binnings and often sending offs in every game for fractionally late or often entirely accidental contact. This has lead on to a culture of play acting and diving by players in the knowledge it will then be forensically looked at by the video ref. Everything that the sport prided itself on is being eroded away to the point where the game is now unrecognisable from the sport that I knew and loved. I've made the decision not to renew my ST next year because of it.
So I've decided to give up on SL and start watching the NRL. I've dipped in and out of it over the years and watched the odd game and have always had a soft spot for Manly ever since my grandad brought me back a shirt from a visit to Aus when I was a kid. And there is the Jamie Lyon link as well. So I've decided that Manly it is.
What a game at the weekend. I thought Manly showed amazing courage and resilience to hang in there. Tom clearly not fully fit but still an absolute class act. The back rower whose name escapes me I though was fantastic as well. Bad day at the office for Hopoate as he's looked decent in previous games I've seen.
Anyway, hi to all and I'll be keeping tabs on the forum and looking to join in as I get more to grips with the team. Good luck for the rest of the play offs. Going to be a big ask in all honestly isn't it but who knows? I'll be rooting for you in any case
