Good or bad idea?

I don’t mind this signing. Adds loads of experience and suits exactly what we need, a mobile forward that is great literally.
We look like we are getting a quicker pack with the additions of Jazz and Siosiua.
We are starting to get a better variation of body types.

The guy is washed and burdened by injuries to be completely honest, but has something no one in our team has; two premiership rings.

He could be a good buy purely for the experience he has, and perhaps mentoring the other forwards about aggression... Something we definitely need.

Must not have been able to find the $500k he was looking for when we were rumoured to him earlier in the month.

Not sure what people are expecting but he will be 33 going into next season, didn't play a game this year even before being sacked and failed a medical at the Dogs. I guess it's only a train and trial and Brown turned out alright in the same circumstance, but even then Taukeiaho is even older and more busted than Browny was when we picked him up.

The Good and the bad perspective ...
From what I am reading by our feathered friends on here
He is an experienced ripe 33 year old Premiership winning forward which is GOOD
He has failed a medical at the Dogs which is BAD .

The question is How busted is he and what are we going to get out of him on the field
Will he add results value to our Salary cap
Or will he be a dormant Aaron Woods cap player

Which club offered an international player a train and trial deal which was quickly rejected?

I think it’s obvious this was about him now, Roosters laughed at his asking price & now he has came back around with no other options

I wonder, if he signs, that he'll try and suddenly be sick so he can miss the pre-season 'days of terror' for newbies, and rather attend a rock concert instead?

If he is signing, and that's a big maybe, that would mean Lodge is definitely gone and we may be shopping Sipley, Matterson and James, which would mean 7 of our 19 forwards from this year are 'Goneski' (Note: Matterson is not in the Top 30). I really hope they don't shop Sipley, as although his defence is not wonderful, he is such a character, and can bend the line, when he is in form.

Literally or laterally?

I think you’ll find injuries mean he is no longer the mobile forward with great lateral movement.

Obviously a train and trial contract can do no harm, but anyone that suggests it would be a great signing into the 30, hasn’t watched him play the last few years, which is fair enough given he’s only played 10 games the last 2 seasons and they were all in 2023

Please no. We need young hungry bulls with a bit of attitude to look for the future, not washed up 33yr olds. Sure he was great in his prime but come on let's be honest,I know it's only a train and trial but Manly should be looking forward, pardon the pun, and investing in the future players.
