Very similarHe reminds me of Jake T
Didn 't realize that Ryan got selected in those matches , full credit to himOne of those honest toilers who wasn't a superstar and didn't need to be one.
Glenn Ryan played 3 rep games during his career (home score first):
- City Seconds (2nd Row) 1984 - lost 22–28 @ SCG
- City Seconds (2nd Row) 1985 - won 6–24 @ Newcastle International Sports Centre
- City Origin (2nd Row) 1989 - won 8–16 @ Marathon Stadium
Anecdotally, Ryan was the President’s Cup competition player of the year in 1980. As in the entire competition. Not just the Manly side’s best player.Didn 't realize that Ryan got selected in those matches , full credit to him
Good player for sure and not out of place in better company
Quite a few very handy and local juniors playing good or good depth type roles in the back row in the mid - late 80 's or so , Peter Callum , Brett Aitkins [ had a bit of toe as well ] even Ian Gately played a bit of 2 nd row i think but more a prop over his Manly stint
