Glad to have most of our side signed for next year.

That's ridiculous. An 18 year old with 2 NYC games. This is the same club that is supposedly already 200k over the cap and trying to get rid of Simona and Lovett. The same club who has a fight to keep hold of Tedesco, Moses, Woods and Brooks. I thought our club had little idea on recruitment and retention. No wonder the NRL is worried about giving the extra money to clubs as they aren't responsible enough to manage it. At least we will have a good chance at Woods. Tigpies will have no cap left

The tigers prefer to pay overs for juniors then fire them or lose them before they play many senior games.

Or pay them and promote them too fast so they play poorly and lose confidence then rubbish them in the media.

Or a stroke of genius. Plenty of kids have played for Aust by the time they were 18/19. They would have had a good look at this kid through the juniors. Looks like he has only played 2 NYC games because he was just 17 last year.

Moses Suli

  • Date of Birth: 09-06-1998
  • Height: 189cm
  • Weight: 106kg
  • Position: Centre, Wing
  • Rep. Honours: NSW Under 16s Origin (2014)
  • Junior Clubs: Fairfield United

Moses is a dangerous outside back who looks to have a bright future ahead of him as he prepares for his first full season of Holden Cup.

The Fairfield United junior played both Harold Matthews and SG Ball for the Balmain Tigers, progressing through to Wests Tigers Under 20s in 2016 at just 17 years of age.

Moses has already represented New South Wales in an Under 16s Origin match in 2014 and was selected in the New South Wales Under 18s squad for 2016, alongside Wests Tigers teammate Ryan Papenhuyzen.

I think the reason he only played 2 was partly due to spending most of the year injured.I think he has back issues and didn't actually finish the 2 games he did play due to back problems. It could be a stroke of genius but I would not sign Bainbridge or Parker to big contracts when we had the Trbojevic brothers to sign. This is what they have pretty much done with many players to sign. But who knows maybe in 2 years he is a superstar.I am glad they are not gambling with my money.....

The problem is bigger clubs like Melbourne and the dogs will always find it easier to sign good young players, they're just attractive destinations. Clubs like the tigers are forced to pay overs to retain good young players.
The nrl needs to work on rules that make it harder for the big clubs to poach top young talent. Our club just needs to work on not releasing good young players.

Red flag!
I'm sure they know this guy very well but when someone has long term injuries, especially back injuries at only 17 years of age, it is risky. Players can come good with time but generally that back injury at such an early age would be enough to put me off throwing 400K per year at him. But one of these young guys has got to be the next Sonny Bill...

With a bit of luck his injury persists (good chance), the Tigers try to offload him, then we pick him up cheap with the Tigs paying half his contract.

All signed for next year. Yeah right. I'd like to know where the OP has been the last few years.
Not living in a cloud of negativity that is for sure and not sure how most became all....Yes I am aware that there will be some guys contracted for 2018 who will not be here, but at least we are not in the position of some clubs like the Tigers,Sharks and Broncos who only have 4/5 of their top 20 players signed for next year and will probably have to pay overs because of the salary cap increase and the trickle down effect that will occur from the elite players being paid higher contracts eg.Ben Hunt.

You shouldn't confuse reality with negativity. When you use a thread title 'Glad to have most of our side signed for next year' it's hard not to chuckle. Just look at the number of players we re-sign to extended contracts in the middle of one season only to see them being shopped around and shipped off before the pre-season of the following season. It shows a lack of vision and forward planning. Also, this kind of behavior isn't conducive to a loyal arrangement between your playing roster and the idiots in charge of the asylum. It goes both ways.

I've been supporting this club for almost 50 years. I've seen a lot over those years. I have been positive most of that time. I think I'm entitled to my negativity if I see fucek all to be positive about.
