I am disappointed that he is no longer with us. I don't think it serves me to hate him or be angry at him for anything that he has done. He played some great years at Manly and helped us win two premierships along the way, and I agree with Ryan; I think he is disappointed that things turned out this way. Sure, you could argue that a lot of it is his own doing, but he is only human, and we don't know what went on behind closed doors. I wish him all the best, and will still enjoy watching his aggressive style of play, even if it is for the Eels.

I'll say one thing out of all of this though; thank god we still have Snake!!

I had my last day at Westpac on Friday - I'm going to ANZ. Westpac gave me qualifications, and I learned so much, about so many things at the place. When I left, whilst I could have gone out complaining & hating, I didn't. Everyone I spoke to, I told how much a loved the place, and how much it did for me.

Right up until the last day, I continued putting in. But, ANZ called me, and offered me more money, and better conditions.

The State General Manager phoned me Friday night, and said, "Ryan, you will always have a home here at Westpac. If you need anything, let me know. Stay attached on Linkdin, so if any opportunities come up, we can talk".

I left because I was missed out on a role I thought I had.

I could have easily complained, been bitter and all that, but in the end, it amounts to nothing. I just really wish Choc went along the same lines. Just bit his lip. I have no doubts his comments have validity. We all know the board at Manly WERE ****house. Imagine working with them every day. What a debacle.

Anyway, that's why I think of Choc differently to the way I think about a bloke like Foran.
All well and good but you went out with class and dignity, he chose to sht on us. He's gone & Foz is still here so until that changes Foz is a Manly man. I now have zero respect for 1 of my alltime favorite players so don't sht on my club & then expect me to still admire you I dont give a damn how good you've been for the club. Kite Gift Beaver & others they deserve our respect. This twat deserves nothing.

Just going on stats
Hitler gained more yardage in September 1939
than Watmough did in September 2014....

I suppose he'll start blaming us on silver tails next.

Wikipedia has the square metreage of Poland at 312,679 sqm. Good stats for A.Hitler in any fantasy league !

RE: Choc 'forced' out of Manly - family gutted

Was going to start another thread but didn't want to be cliche.

This from the chairmain of the Squeels in an official release to members.

"The past 48 hours have seen some great news for our club.

Yesterday the club announced the signing of State of Origin Blues forward Anthony Watmough, who has signed on to play with the Eels for the next three seasons with a option for a fourth.

Anthony is a great player and competitor whose leadership will boost our playing group significantly and fast track the development of some of our exciting young stars."

Seems a bit strange to me. I wonder who holds this option ? If it's not Choc, he in essence didn't get a longer deal with the Squeels than he was offered by Manly.

(Just noticed the grammatical error in the release....LOL....professional outfit the Slime. Proofreaders anyone ?)

Anthony Whatdough?

If we can't laugh, there's no use crying.

Poor old Anthony. That's the biggest "choc" Manly has had to force out since Hoppa Snr.

We need more fibre. LOL!

yes, but although he would have been well paid at Manly next year, the two years after he would have got significantly less than what he will be getting at Parramatta. When you consider that we still have to pay him 300k in 2015, he is no worse off financially next year, and then keeps cashing in at the Eels until he retires. Effectively, he will get the same $$$ next year, but be better off for having signed with Parramatta in years 2016 and 2017 and potentially 2018.

I thought he was offered 600K a season by Manly for 2015 and 2016.

Surely Parra aren't stupid enough.....never mind.

I'm pretty sure the Manly deal was closer to 400k a season.

I find it abhorrent that 2ky would stoop so low as to give a na-zi airtime. The atrocities committed by hitler and his evil henchmen should never be forgotten. Shame on 2ky.

Choc was offered a two year contract of 1.2mil for 2016 and 2017

Well, that's very true and Hitlers defence was terrible during the latter stages of his career....

Wonder if choc knows about the 4th year being an "option"? Maybe it's a surprise like the contract fifita was offered by the dogs. Bit late now.

RE: Choc 'forced' out of Manly - family gutted

Listened to the interview, said on Friday it was hard to remember to talk up Parra and talk Down Manly... Don't know why he had to talk down the club that made him what he is?

Seriously. Now that Choc's left Manly he's Mr Popular.
Same happened with Dessie. Now he's this amazing, mad-scientist super coach.
Manly envy runs deeps. Everyone want a piece of what we've got.😉

RE: Choc 'forced' out of Manly - family gutted

He made it plain it was his decision. He can explain that to his dad at xmas lunch.

RE: Choc 'forced' out of Manly - family gutted

Funniest thing I have read today......

Watmough described Eels coach Brad Arthur as “the best I have ever played under”
