I feel his goal kicking is actually pretty good but had a few tough shots over the weekend.
Not sure how many kickers put the ball dead from sideline conversions.

He always chokes on hard conversions, he has cost us games in last couple seasons with his poor kicking.

On checking, I found that Garrick's goal kicking has been the difference between winning & losing in six games over the last two seasons where both sides scored the same amount of tries.

Reuben Garrick fractured back scans: Manly Sea Eagles star’s horror injury revealed​

The controversial tackle which all but ruined Manly’s finals hopes has taken an ugly turn, with scans revealing the true extent of Reuben Garrick’s injury.


Manly fullback Reuben Garrick fractured his back following the controversial Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad tackle which has split rugby league.
Garrick fell heavily on his back after his legs were taken out from him by Warriors opposite No.1 Nikoll-Klodastad on Friday night. The tackle was not penalised nor did the match review committee charge Nicoll-Klokstad despite Garrick falling into a dangerous position. Garrick had jumped to retrieve a bouncing ball following a charge down from a Daly Cherry-Evans field goal attempt.
Scans have revealed Garrick has a “fractured transverse process” in his back. Despite the injury taking six weeks to heal Garrick will be named for the Sea Eagles on Tuesday and has indicated that he wants to play against Canterbury on Sunday.
Manly boss Tony Mestrov confirmed the news.

“Everyone saw the tackle, people formulate their own views,” Mestrov said. “The proof is in the pudding. The rugby league community can form their own views given Reuben’s injury.”
It is understood Garrick can not do any further damage to his back but will need to try to mitigate the pain in order to play.
Sea Eagles officials are fuming at the decision not to award their side a crucial penalty which would have given them a two-point lead in the dying stages of the match with a regulation penalty goal attempt.
Garrick dropped the ball as he hit the ground with the Warriors going on to score just moments later.
As Warriors back-rower Marata Niukore raced to the tryline, Garrick was unable to give chase.

The 29-22 loss against the Warriors ended Manly’s hopes of a top eight finish.
Manly coach Anthony Seibold said after the game he was “pissed off” and that his team was “duded” the call to not give his side a penalty.
NRL head of football Graham Annesley said the match officials got the call right declaring “under the existing rule, there was no requirement on the referees to form a view that that was a breach of the rules”.

Despite the decision being the right one according to the rule book, ARL chairman Peter V’landys has hinted that he will explore a potential rule change at the end of the season.

The Sea Eagles could be down to their third choice fullback to play Canterbury. Garrick had been filling in for the injured Tom Trbojevic.

The Sea Eagles have also dropped Josh Schuster for the penultimate game of the season.

A complete shearing off of the transverse process (which apparently - and thankfully - has not happened in this case) could damage the associated spinal nerve - which serves to transmit sensation and movement to a portion of the lower body below the affected nerve. Worse case scenario - could be career-ending.

The rule book be dammed - it's obvious that the rule book has not yet caught up to what we could all see with our own eyes. Even CNK hung his head like a kid caught stealing from the corner shop.

It ranks up there with Michael Crocker smashing Brett Stewart in the head with his elbow in the 2008 GF. One player deliberately targets another while the latter is defenseless, and causes grievous bodily harm.

We don't even need the bloody rules to change though!! This is what is annoying me with this discussion. I get why the bouncing ball rule is in place - it needs to stay, otherwise the defenders will basically be helpless. HOWEVER!! There is another rule - the dangerous contact rule!!!! That is the rule that should have been invoked and a penalty given for that. And as you say, the proof is now in the eating of the pudding - he has a fractured back - ipso facto - it was a dangerous tackle!!! END OF STORY!! ARRRRGGGHH!! It's so infuriating.

Sadly, there'll still be people claiming he was faking it or trying to milk a penalty (and therefore got what he deserved). And that's just on this site.

If was a favoured one would have been a penalty, a bin or send off and 2 weeks for good measure.

I don’t have much faith in Seibold, and that has fallen back even further seeing Garrick named in the 22. I don’t think he will take the field at all, and if he did, all faith would be lost

We are out of contention, and he has a broken back, forget any ideas at all about him even training, let alone playing this year

100 percent agree with all these posts. You don’t muck around with back injuries. I’ve had one for ten years. He should be in cotton wool for three months. Give it time to heal then give it extra time and then some more time.
