Galvin

At first glance it does seem petty but on further reflection, I think Wests are doing the right thing - they've put money & time into developing Galvin & he's told them he doesn't want to be there.

Why should they give him more time in first grade to develop further as a player just so whoever he ends up with gets a more experienced & polished player?
Yeah, I see what you're saying but if he's playing good footy and he wants to put in (in theory) until the end of next season, it looks ordinary. But as I mentioned in another post, if he tanks, then sure, punt him.

I think if DCE's form goes south (I'll give him the benefit of the doubt in Perth) I can see where it might be warranted but doing it just coz he's leaving can be counterproductive. I don't think there's anyone ready to step up this year and I'd still like to see us be
Ok but he was overheard saying he doesn't believe the coaching staff are good enough to get him further. Imagine you are the coach hearing that.....you still playing him?

Yeah, fair enough. If that was the case it would be a prob. But wasn't that last year when the team stunk. Or was that something else he said? Hard to keep track of the he said she said these days 🤣

I dunno, why shouldn't Wests now prioritise the development of Latu Fainu since Galvin won't be there longterm?

I could name at least 8 or 9 clubs that would be less desirable than Manly.

I agree with that but we are not bidding with them we are up against the dogs and potentially the roosters, now do I find those clubs more attractive? no but as a footballer I might.

The other club that is linked is the eels now I find that funny as nobody with any brains would want to play with them but he is 19 and as a kid did support them as his family does.

All I'm saying this isn't the 70's and 80's when we clicked our fingers and players ran to join us we battle to attract talent when others want the same talent.

I thought that when it all blew up regarding dce and hastings...the rlpa came out and said that if someone is the best for that position and not injured, then a club has an obligation in playing them. ie: No revenge dropping of players, with an implied ...er...threat to manly that they can't not play hastings because he's a git (allegedly).

But it may be the voices in my head getting it wrong again.

Roosters? How many times can it be said that Roosters don’t deal with Moses, Buzz said it’s 0 chance he goes there on 360 last night. If Dogs sign him then they will lose 1 of the most talented halfbacks since Cleary in Mitchell Woods or Burton.

No team in the comp is going to match Tigers offer of almost $6 million across 5 years. People are too focused on the money, he clearly doesn’t get along with the playing group, coaching staff or something has happened behind the scenes

It's probably highly likely, but considering Latu is currently injured, I think Wests would have grounds to bring him back in for Galvin once he's recovered.

Manly Shock favourite emerges as key links revealed. Aces up our sleeve, Westfield sports High, where he won hosts of trophies and Aus schoolboys selection. Two coaching staff was Steve Hales and Wayne Lambkin. So if the not getting on with the coaches part is true, then we're in with a chance. but I won't be spending millions maybe 800-900k and a future upgrade and performance bases and only for 5yrs with future extensions.

I prefer Payne Haas though, I heard Tevita Pangai JR was comimg back what about him anyone????

I feel sorry for the Tigepies here .I think its kind of sad that they have spent so much time and money on him got him playing 1st grade as 18 yo ,and offered him a terrific deal for the next 5 years (like not stuffing him around )and then the manger true to form pulls him out and possibly derails not just 1 season, that's barely started, but 2 .

Its not dissimilar to us and the Fainu's,in terms of time and money , but in the end we were happy to say good bye to them .
But its the manager ruthlessly undoing the cord of the Kimono and letting the world see whats on offer ,well before other clubs are allowed to negotiate..I mean if its illegal for other clubs to jump the November date in prior contract year ,is it not also illegal for the manager to have him undressed in the shop window before that date also ?
Anyways go Manly is what I really care about

Quite possibly, this has been planned for quite some time between Moses & Seibold. Moses needs to funnel good players to Siebold to ensure that he continues in the job. DCE was never going to be offer a “genuine” extension and the Fogerty speculation could be a smokescreen. Just saying !

I watched Pangai the other night in super league & he looked awful, so unfit

I was listening to the reaction of him being dropped. The people who have known me from the old days might be shocked by this. But I'm pretty disturbed about this whole Galvin thing. Would love him at manly.

However as a game how do we put a kid and that's all he is a boy in this position where he is going to
Cop so much hate from
Fans. Who have every right to feel aggrieved.

I agree that finger needs to be pointed at his management and to a lesser extent his parents for putting him in this position but I worry about the kids mental health, 19 year olds aren't as resilient as they used to be. Hope he's got good people around him.
