NRL chief executive David Gallop has given a firm indication a fixed schedule is high on the agenda for the Australian Rugby League Commission as it plans for a new broadcast deal.In an interview to go to air on Wednesday night's edition of NRL on Fox, Gallop says the loud cries coming from fans in favour of a fixed schedule have been heard and change is in the pipeline.

Well how good are you Gallop. A new TV deal has been coming for years but all of a sudden you have a great idea. The punter has wanted this for years, as have the clubs and players.

You are a the worst piece of management thats ever led the NRL...youve achieved nothing...... and the games administrators , refs and others are all jobs for the boys.

Improve the game and youll get more money for the game...not just lining your own pocket. Equal the playing field, not just your "own" teams....Give us our $100k back.....even up the judiciary....p1ss off benefit of the doubt....p1ss off 2 refs...give us cold beer at Brookvale, actually give us a brookvale oval equal to the others.

I would not let you drive a forklift at my place, you are hopeless.

Ahhhhh, feel better now....good night

Whats needed is a tendering process for these rights. One that provides ALL the negotiable options (including fixed schedule) so that the decision on who and under what conditions the media company is selected by.

No tender...they all put in a offer and channel 9/fox have the last go.
Just like what the great K. Packe(RIP)r did to the AFL. Threw in a massive offer and the others panicked and beat it. Problem is Gallop hasnt got the brains to be able to swing a hammer let alone a good deal.

If the NRL wants the money that they are seeking for the TV rights, then I doubt it very much if the TV Networks would accede to Gallops demand for a fixed schedule.

You only come across one Kerry Packer in a lifetime.

A fixed schedule eh? Does that mean that Brisbane will be fixed to Friday nights and Manly fixed to Mondays?

Gallop is a F@rk stik........would not survive in business on a day to day basis...He has the AFL has his opposition and he sleeps with them.....f@rk off Gallop

Why wouldn't tv networks agree to a fixed schedule, they do with the AFL and the NFL does it in the states also so why can't the NRL have a fixed schedule before the season kicks off?

They can and they will, IF the NRL create a competitive environment for both options. 9 have simply preyed on the NRLs laxness on this subject in the past & dont want to lose the advantages they get.

Thats why id like to see a tender process with all the options costed out.
