For those who are anti-Kent, you might want to read

I honestly believe Gus is the man for the job.He has a great Footy brain and holds many old school values .He loves the game and is probably the guy to save it.
Unfortunately we would have to hear it from him and see that ugly mug more often.
Oh well ,you gotta take the good with the bad.
Get it done Fugly.......
Yes! He was such an outstanding success as an administrator at the Riff.

Cheap programing by Fox who have the nerve to charge people to televise these three waffling on about their past with zero footage of the memories they meander through :swear:

Why FoxNRL has turned into FoxMattyJohns is a mystery 😕

I've said before I think Matty Johns is Buster Friendly from Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?

Can't be convinced otherwise...

This may seem trivial to some. So I’m watching the Matty Johns podcast.(not really into it, but the convo they were having hooked me in). So there’s Johns, Finchy, and Kent. Now Kent was talking about Peter Frilingos and some of the old journos and such. And it was a really good yarn, but mainly just between Kent and Matty, who was also telling stories about the hate Warren Ryan and chippy had for each other. And this must’ve gone on for 15 minutes. The whole time Finchys listening and paying attention. Then they turn to hall of fame, finally Matty brings Finchy into the convo asking him about playing with Ruben Wiki. And off Finchy goes (but not in his dick head role he usually plays, it was good stuff). About now I can’t help but notice Kent has got his phone out, scrolling, reading, and pretending to listen. And he keeps going. By now I’m yelling at Kent, ‘put your bloody phone down and show some respect!’. It became obvious to Finchy, and he tapped him on the arm jokingly to try and get his attention as he was talking. By now the conspiracy theorist in me started thinking there must be some bad blood between the two because of Kent giving it to the Storm, and Finchy (disgustingly ) backing them.
But no, Matty takes over, and bugger me if Kents still at it. He’d throw in a laugh on cue, but kept scrolling on his fkn phone.
It was all good when he was talking about his journo days, then once it turned to blokes actually playing more than one game of footy, he totally brushed them. I know I sound like a cranky old bastard, but f*ck it gave me the shiits. Disrespectful, arrogant, and just plain rude. .......Rant over :banghead:
Prob on the money Wombat. But to be fair I’m sure I’ve seen Matty check his phone a few times on the show as well, Kent previously as well. I had wondered if it was a bit staged to set the scene of their relaxed chilled out footy chat.

He's gotta do that to prove to anyone watching that he's so on to things and up to date and info is flowing into his phones as he is that important.

That and he's checking Silvertails, lol

I actually like the fake podcast. A lot of those yarns are quite funny. Matty is good value and I hate to say it Kent has grown on me this year. Finch will now be known from this day forward as the “feral rat Finch” after his staunch defense of melb and attack at Hooper the other night. Don’t corner the Rat!

The NRL had for some time had a ground swell of support from reporters concerned about being shunned and finding themselves out of the click and missing good stories. But finally perceptions of injustice, favoritism and inconsistency appear to have finally broken the alliance. Whilst I don't agree with many things said by reporters, and many people don't agree with my views on this forum, I do believe that they have a real love of this great game and its history and recognize that the administration is broken. The NRL need to release that this game is not simply a money making cash cow but a part of our social fabric and is very important to each and every lover of Rugby league. The Australian adage of "give a bloke a fair go" is a powerful metaphor that runs deep into our social heritage.
