Yes, although Ross Windshuttle and Mike Eden in 1981 and ‘82 respectively, turned out to be very good substitutes.

The former was almost like a clone of Eadie in the running and tackling department.

Before that in 1979, I remember Zorba tipping Manly to beat the Dragons at Brookvale, if Eadie played. He didn’t and we lost 25-18.
Yeah , he wasn "t bad " Sooty ' Windshuttle , better full back then winger . From Union and did he ever rep there ? Mike Eden was pretty versatile as well and eventually spent some time in the halves from memory .Have to note that Dale " Rowdey ' Shearer played some quality time at full back at Manly as well . Daryl Williams was a Kiwi full back and very capable Manly full back at times also . Luke Phillips could have been a good slightly longer term full back for Manly as well if not for injury . Understandable attention on the big 3 , Turbo , Wombat and Snake but a good array of other very talented full backs previously at the Sea Eagles as well .

I have been around for a long time. Snake is one of my favorite player, has to be one of the best passes of a footy.
Last year Tommy was one of the best players in the comp. This year he is the best. The Club spent $100,000's on his rehab. He then suffered a self inflicted injury. From comments Jake has made Tommy never reached his level of dedication. Not sure if anyone else does either. His rise this year may be to do with realising he had let people down (?) .. giving up the grog for the season.
To become a great (est) it is measured over a career. In my opinion TT is on the path. And do we love it.

Turbo is edging closer and c;loser to be the best all round Manly full back . Big test is to be just as valuable and game changing against the higher ranked sides as the lesser ones and he has already shown that on many occasions already but guess also relevant that Wombat and Snake were very influential in some premiership titles , something that i certainly hope that Turbo can be part of A S A P

If he strings together 3 or 4 seasons like this one then he is worthy of being in the discussion. One season is great, Hayne had one of those as did Barba. Would you consider either of those better than Snake or Wombat ??

He needs to dominate in finals, win premierships and also start repping at fullback. Can you consider him better than Eadie if he can't get the number 1 for his state and country ?? He has the potential to be the best ever, but time will tell if he can continue this form. The thing that blows my mind is that I still think he has improvement in him as he gets more experience. Especially with his ball playing, at the moment he can destroy a team with individual brilliance, wait till he adds a bit more guile to his craft.

I was just over at The Kennel, that fountain of great rugby league knowledge.

Tom must surely be right up there with the all time greats. I mean they have a thread comparing his to Ben Barba.

I can honestly say that I never thought i'd see that comparison.

It is the nightmare for rival NRL clubs that may not end until 2037.
The healing educator who repaired Tom Trbojevic’s problematic hamstrings has claimed the Manly superstar could play until he is 40. And Trbojevic can become faster and more durable.

Balmain-based AcuEnergetics practitioner Kevin Farrow – who specialises in bio-electrical methods to repair injuries – has no doubt 24-year-old Trbojevic, the best player in rugby league, can torment opposition sides for another 16 years.
