We showed much more spark when Davey came on; that's one of very few positives to come out of the match. I also thought Froggy went well and replacing him around the 50-minutes mark with The Lawman worked.
Tent and Keppie fired up and hopefully will continue to improve.
Guaca is a beauty, and Bully should be demoted to the bench and come on only when the game has opened up.

We did not react. You knew that the Roosters were after redemption after their game last week and we did not match them.

We were on the back foot and our discipline was so bad that we gave up penalties, resets etc.

What disappointed me the most was the ease of their tries. Our right side got shredded all night!

We need to get the basics right and start a game on the front foot and ease into a game. We have given ourselves no chance in these first 2 games!

I think the true answer is in those 3 out of 4 losses we played superior teams who used the same game plan to basically beat us up....that first 10 or so in these particular games has been like the python sliding up our body and by the 10-15 minute mark, it wraps around the throat and slowly but surely squeezes the life out of Manly.
your point of starting well is very valid and as you point out, it's easy to claw back against weaker sides, but any Top contendor will take advantage of the slow start and shuts every gate, not allowing that spectacular comeback win full of flashy footy, which instead turn into errors and panic football...

We are way to passive in our starts, if it ain't happening in attitude, then Tommy ain't happening.

The starts are strange
Some sports you sit back and watch the opposition patiently and then adjust to combat the opposition
In footy it's gotta be intensity from the outset and we have lost this 90% vs 10% in the first 2 rounds
You don't always play a pathetic team who you can give away a start and then out outscore them in a shootout....this is another factor in the teams poor start in 2022
