One thing that has always bugged me with the anthem (apart from "girt") is the multitude of different endings to the thing. Invariably, the players and crowd will finish the song with the short "Advance Australia Fair" while the singer with the mic plows on with the long drawn out creshendo finish, or vice-versa. Bloody cringe worthy.
