Finals bound

So who reckons this Manly side is good enough to break the "Bottom four Hoodoo" never in the history of the NRL has a bottom 4 of the 8 team won a Grand Final. Playing in finals is as good as it gets from now on, I can't see a Trophy in this side.
Nope but week 2 finals is a pass mark for me
Storm's title to lose for me
No one will catch the
Plus they can rest players the next 2 rounds as byes Panthers can't get them for 1st
Then win week 1 another week off before hosting a PF at home.

We definitely have the potential to make the GF,providing a favourable position in the 8 with a home semi as well as having our best team available

Yes in NRL history but that only started in 1998 prior to that it has been done, 1995 for starters.

So it’s 7th or 8th by the looks of it , unless we were to come out like rock stars the next two games and win both.

Such a pity to lose a home final, that would have got us to week 2.

Oh well certainly an improvement on 2023, regardless.

Losing to the Tigers at this time of year isn’t a team on the way to a premiership, that game has turned us into also runs.
2008 Round 23 vs Souths (14th) - They put 40 on us.

It was season over at that point.

NB I dont think for one moment I am comparing this side to the 2008 side.

Being doing the ladder predictor
We lose next week 7th or 8th is our finishing position

Dogs would 3 clear and cowboys if they beat storm will be the same

I know it wouldn't be popular but if that becomes the case I would rest any injured players that week and be fully fit week one finals

Next 2 weeks will tell us a lot about this playing group

Win both home final
Lose one
7th or 8th finish and probably week 1 defeat.

The Finals bound perspective...

Yep and you can see the dogs are the chosen nrl darlings this year

They will get every 50/50 call go there way in the finals , they will get a favourable draw and wouldn't surprise me if they make at least a PF
This year .
I don’t know that Salisbury-Wankstown have beaten too many teams in the Top 8?

Of course if they did win, there will be no narrative about them buying a premiership.

I may be wrong on both counts.😉

On their day, Manly can beat anybody...
But just too many games to win to get the GF

And 2025
A real crack at the top 4 if DCE and turbo stay fit
If we want to win one we are going to have win it soon because once DCE hangs up the boot we could be in for a long few seasons
And I am coming around to your argument about yes we have improved this year but still I feel a wasted season with a few of those close defeats we win them we are right in the fight for a top 4 finish

Yeah, "buying a premiership" was apparently only a bad thing when we did in the 1970s. Now it's called "good roster management" or "being the Roosters".

Anyway, there's no danger of us ever doing it again because we are the paupers of the NRL.

Manly this year is already better than last year, and last year we won more games than the year before that.
Gotta be in it to win it - and Manly is in it!
Not only that we've got a full squad available, we've just had ice water splashed in
our faces to wake us all up, and ...if we're good enough we will still get a home semi to launch our finals campaign.

We need the Cowboys to lose one of the final two matches .

We really do need a home semi at 4Pines.
Mate it doesn’t matter if they win both. As it will just mean the dogs lose 2 and we jump them for the home final. That is providing we win the next 2.

Who knows. There’s a lot of footy left yet. Look at Penrith and Cleary. Teams can still get significantly impacted by injury.
