Saab and Sailor would be nice... we do need a prop though and going after hetherington suggests we wont play Jake there... i have a feeling Tolman is coming to Mantown. If hes 200k 1 year deal fine. He can play the 80 and pumps out 100 plus meters a game.
Saab yes, no to Sailor.
Sailor is way too small and not overly fast, certainly missed out on quite a few of the old man's genes, do you think perhaps?, nah let's not go there

I still think we lack speed in the backline - a genuine flyer. Suli and Parker are too slow, Funa, Garrick and Hoppa have moderate speed, only Tom and Walker can be classed as fast, and even then Walks has had so many lower-limb injuries that his speed won't be what it was.

We do have an absolute speed machine in SG Ball - Kaeo Weekes (think Ado Carr fast, Damien Cook off the mark fast) but he is only turning 18 this year, so he may crack a development contract next year and see first grade in 2022.
Suli is a keeper imo. We need a power back and he fills that gig.

We signed a hooker today

While I hope that is how it all works out, if it's our plan A for hooker 2021 we might be in for another long season. Foran is unproven at hooker. Even moreso a 50+ minute hooker. Even more so for 20+ rounds. There is no real backup that I can see. We have 3 halves that we are trying to turn into a specialist hooker (that we desperately need) - Foran, Croker and Cust. A sure thing would be very nice.

... I really hope Croker isn't coming off the bench (or worse starting).

I think it is now clear Walker will be back in the centres next year with Schuster/Foran T 5/8.

Who partners him will be interesting Suli, Harper or Parker?
I’d say Parker to 2nd row either starting or off the bench, walker with one of the starting centre spots and then suli, Harper and hoppa to fight it out for the other centre spot. Another option is playing suli on one wing with garrick on the other wing.

Foran is unproven at hooker you say ???
What is the difference between a hooker and a half ???
A few schooners of VB
There is your answer feathered friend .

With the likely additions of Foz, Davey, Garner and a possible Garrick-Saab swap I reckon the final piece of the puzzle is a quality utility. Someone like a Sailor, May, Hynes etc I'd even be happy to add Cogger as a depth option/ utility. We need this utility to push Croker further down the pecking order. I think the squad is looking much more balanced next year.

Taupau Foran* Paseka
Gosiewski Siro
Jake
Chez Schuster
Walker Suli
Funa Saab*
Turbo
Keppie Olakau-atu Garner Cust

Sipley Boyle Davey* Saddler* S.Fainu* Croker Cogger* M. Fainu
Hoppa Harper Parker Ben.T Taufua
I would like or remain hopeful we can snare Flegler.

Turpin or Herrington from the Donkeys you play number 9.

Development players, Titmuss, Birt, Tuitavake, S Fainu, Ben T & Weekes.

Do you actually think foran will play 9? I can't see it happening personally
i hope so if it means it keeps schuster at the club. 1 year of foz at 6 is not worth 10 years of a future rep player.

Hopefully a winger and a cheap hooker. wouldnt mind a good prop or 2row too, or both.
Areas that need signing:
Hooker: Foz (at 14, cust 9), promote dockar-clay, or sign havili / randall as depth
Wing: Saab would be nice. Corey Allen tore up tonight at souths, great fullback, maybe at wing then can play #1 when tom is out for the latter half of next season?
Second Row: Davey, either Garner / Sironen
Prop: Hetherington would be nice too. Otherwise any other suggestions? Welch is out the door at storm, could be solid in the middle.

weekes is a fullback / half... we sort of have that covered.
tolu koula is the gun, can play wing / centre... and sub 11seconds over 100m runner.

Weekes can play anywhere in the backline. I think he’d make an electric centre. He has started to put on a bit of size but not too much to impact his speed. He will be great fullback coverage for Tom.

Koula is also excellent and will have a future in first grade no doubt, but I garauntee Weekes is front and centre in our plans for first grade in a year or two. Plenty of room for both.
