Saab and Sailor would be nice... we do need a prop though and going after hetherington suggests we wont play Jake there... i have a feeling Tolman is coming to Mantown. If hes 200k 1 year deal fine. He can play the 80 and pumps out 100 plus meters a game.

Tolman may play 80 minutes, but it takes him 120 minutes to do it.

We still need to sign a seasoned prop in my opinion... not tolman though. Anyone but tolman. A specialist winger not including saab and I think we're set. I was half expecting one big name signing but I guess that looks like it won't be happening. Foran probably is the big name.. sigh.
My thoughts exactly. A Joe Galuvao type up front and a speedster out wide. I agree a ‘big name’ signing is unlikely, but think squad balance requires more ‘mid-tier’ players.

I think it’s going to be interesting what happens with Walker. Seems pretty clear that he will go to market on 1 November and if a club puts a chunky offer in front of him he might seek an early release (as is pretty common these days).

Turbo was a huge blow, but the loss of Fainu was arguably just as significant, as we went from 2 world class 9's in 2019 to none in 2020.
We were in the top four before Turbo's injury.
Then DESpicable started picking journeymen instead of taking what he thought was a risk on our young talent. I don't think even the coach's staunchest defenders would argue that his selections this season have been unsuccessful.

We need walker for next year though in my opinion. Will be happy to see him back in the centres where he is most damaging. He adds experience to our outside back stocks as well

I hope you are correct.

I wonder what curtis rona is doing nowadays

He is perhaps our only legit “strike” outside back (other than Tommy), so yeah, I think we do need him unless we could jag an adequate replacement.

I still think we lack speed in the backline - a genuine flyer. Suli and Parker are too slow, Funa, Garrick and Hoppa have moderate speed, only Tom and Walker can be classed as fast, and even then Walks has had so many lower-limb injuries that his speed won't be what it was.

We do have an absolute speed machine in SG Ball - Kaeo Weekes (think Ado Carr fast, Damien Cook off the mark fast) but he is only turning 18 this year, so he may crack a development contract next year and see first grade in 2022.
