Taufua's metres after impact and ability to set the opposition back when he gets a fast play-the-ball. Wright is amazing, but he's amazing depth on a premiership roster.

I don't want to sound patronising, but anyone who thinks Taufua is a serious option in the backrow has no clue about RL...there I said it!

There is so much more to playing backrow than running the football. You have to run good lines, you have to be able to pass to outside support and you need to make really difficult reads in defence.

Taufua does not have the skill set to make the transition at this stage of his career. He needed to be earmarked for a shift in his early 20's.

Back to the original question; Taufua is the best yardage winger in the competition so he gets the nod for me...we have all off season to factor in goal kicking next year.

Early 20's? He's just turned 25 mate.

Taufua, by a long way too

Goalkicking is a crucial point, but can't be the be all and end all for picking the team

How many times have you said to yourself "how the hell did he just score that" after Jorge has scored a try with 2 in front on him and half a metre to work with

That is something we won't get from Wright, who is solid, reliable and a great option, but not quite at Jorges class

He will be 26 in October...

What I mean to say is, he needed to be prepared for a move to the backrow after his first couple of seasons...for example, everyone knows Nick Cotric is going to end up a centre/backrower...ditto Ben Creagh a decade ago...

There will always be exceptions to the rule; Luke Lewis made a mid career shift, but he is Luke Lewis. Taufua just is not made for this position. Even his ability to run the ball late in sets is untried. It's so much different to taking the first 1-2 hit-ups in a set against a disorganised line from a kick chase.

I know the club have no intentions of moving him into the forwards for the same reasons I have discussed. We've signed a backrower for next year...I cannot say who at this stage out of respect, but for those of you who like to have a stab in the dark, this player was formerly with the Knights and is now with another Sydney club.

Hopefully Robbie Rochow. That's who springs to mind. Then Beau Scott.

Matt wright is doing ok. The goal kicking is a big tick and he has pretty reliable handling. But he is so slow. It's only a matter of time till he doesn't stop a 40/2 due to being so slow or gets run around multiple times on his flank.I actually can't believe how slow he is. He will never turn those half chances into tries as he is unable to break tackles or burn them with pace.

If he couldn't kick goals, he wouldn't be in the team.

Jorge may have downsides, but what he offers is so much more than wright.

It was a big "ouch" moment last night when the warriors winger sped past wright with about 30cm of room. Not sure Jorge would have been clued in defensively to this either. But it was amazing not to even get a touch on the opposition winger in that tiny corridor.

Did he start his career in Brisbane as a winger perhaps?

Wright is a very composed, reliable player who should look at beefing up a little and making the transition to being an interchange depth back-rower(yes i know something out of left field and highly unlikely) to prolong his career, improve his pay packet and reduce the chances of being a journeyman.

Can hit the line hard in his own way when required, has some footwork and if he can add some size and line running to his game might be able to make the transition, but to be honest most clubs are not going to take that risk until they are cash or cap strapped.

Just comes across as a good all round jack of all trades master of none player, that will continue to get shopped around for an all round depth signing.
