Ok, it's March 2018, Jorge is over his ACL and you have a choice, run on side game 1, who do you choose and why.

This is a tough choice. Taufua before his injury was going great guns with his scintillating runs and was in career best form. But Wright has come in and has played exceptionally well, he is safe as houses under a high ball, can defend and we now have a goal kicker who is more often than not going to land them.
Wright by a nose.

I would like to see how Wright goes under Barrett for the rest of the year. He seems to be getting better week by week
As it stands right now Taufua.
But moving forward I'd probably like Taufua to be a bench 2Nd rower who could cover the backline if needed.

We cant win close games without a good goal kicker
Wright is the best we have at the moment
Having Wright in the side does not mean it is only at the expense of Jorge . We will wait and see how Kelly progresses
Jorge ?
Wright ?
Kelly ?
Player Performance is the key to unlock the 2018 team

I knew Mattie Wright could kick but to be honest he's surprised me with the other facets of his game, he's actually much better than I thought.

For me , if it came down to a choice I'd pick Wright ( as I've done in the poll).

Not all big wingers turn into affective second rowers
I'm not sure Jorge has the motor or the agility to defend out wide . He also has no passing game which is also a liability

A tough one cause Jorge might move to the pack if so then Wright.
Easy way out !!

you guys are so fickle
wright may get more 2 pointers but jorge will convert more chances into tries
jorge by a streak

We are not the 2005 Tigers.

There are plenty of tight games to come if we go deep into Sept, hopefully Oct.

Goalkicking is massive.
As with this year, if there is no Hastings, Wright needs to play.

Then play him at prop. It worked with Ruben Wiki.

Let's not forget how many games are won by 2-4 points , sometimes those kicks are the difference!!
you can't convert a try that hasn't been scored though!
you can't score as many tries if you have no go forward from your own try line either

nothing against wright, he's been great for us
but taufua is outstanding

However isn't it nice to know that if we score out wide we have a fair chance of converting, which may well be the difference between winning and losing!

George is better suited to the game plan of wingers getting good sets going and laying a platform for the forwards. The club will have the entire offseason to hire a kicking coach and get someone else trained up for goal kicking.

Wright is a better option as 18th man as he can play a variety of positions.
they had an entire off season last year too haha

it's been years since manly have had a quality goal kicker
jamie lyon was pretty much the worst regular kicker in the comp
