Spoke with the same fellow at the Titans who told me DCE was heading there well before it was announced and he said they expect to lose Elgey to Manly shortly.

Good news , I think he will be a very handy half, now it would be nice to get someone experienced to partner him.

Widdop, whilst not star quality, would be fair, do the job and kick goals.

What Elgey has that Sezer and Hodkinson don't is a footy brain. From what I have seen from him in the QLD cup and Holden cup is the ability to play what is in front of him.
Probably won't be a defensive powerhouse but that's not what we need from a half.

Am hoping this is true. Agree @Pepi he plays what is in front of him. He's a little rough around the edges but he is only 3 games into his career so plenty of development ahead.

Elgey will be a good signing but needs an experienced 5/8. We are still a couple of hard headed forwards short though.

Manly also need to work on getting Cleary from the panthers as our next coach
