I liked when Des gave the Parra shirt wearing guy a Manly jersey and he put it on over the parra one!

Poor Alan standing in front of a melted mess that was once his home, tells us he just lost his wife, and yet still thanks the guys for visiting.

If you have a first world prob today, this aint the thread to be posting it in!

Worth a thread on its own, sorry @globaleagle

These great things our club and many others do for the community
Thanks Wheel. If that doesnt bring a tear to your eye,s, nothing will. Well done Boys and Manly. I love this club

Absolutely wonderful from the club.

All those players and staff volunteered their time to head up on Saturday and on top of that the club put on a bar tab at the pub for locals and came with plenty of merchandise to hand out.

A small gesture but one that takes their minds of the terrible situation if only for a few hours.

and whos front and centre again? Des! The guy is a legend for getting his guys on the same page. well done all.
Picking up DW last year from the cop shop, Taking the Turbos to the hospital to see Warwick Bulmer, at court for MF. Thats the sign of a leader and a coach...

Thank you for another great story about our great club @The Wheel

Homes and hopes were lost in Rappville town but the locals broken hearts were restored when the Manly Sea eagles came around

This overwhelming gesture, and one of many from our great club should inspire any Manly human being to become a club member and proudly support not only their great club the Manly Sea eagles but humanity as well .

God bless the Manly Sea eagles club

Hey all

The club has asked me to pass on their appreciation of all the kind words being said around their their visit to Rappville here on Silvertails but also across social media. It is about lifting the small communities spirit not about club.

A few pics from Saturday, great to see plenty of smiles at such a tough time for Rappville

I choked up viewing this . . .
and it wasn't from the smoke.
Very proud to support the Manly Sea Eagles and see some of the good things the players and officials do, rather than the negative reports the Telecrap delivers.

Great photos and amazing scenes to see Rappville covered in maroon and white and the great spirit of the Manly Sea eagles club up lift the spirits of the people in despair

I am at a lost for words to describe the amazing gesture by our great club and even more lost for words that our great the Manly Sea eagles club who are winners on and off the field are the least club supported by its supporters through club membership

It is time for every person that calls them selves a Manly supporter to spread their wings and rise like true Sea eagles and do their club justice by becoming a club member today

There are 2 types of supporters in the NRL ........

The lost souls of the NRL and the Manly Sea eagles supporters

Do your club proud and help lift them on top of this ladder where they belong !!!

MAD keen Sea Eagles supporter Allan Robertson is a human face of the bushfire tragedy that has engulfed NSW.

He lost his home in the small town of Rappville on the NSW north coast due to the blazes raging throughout the state and then his partner Yvonne passed away.

His house burnt down the day that Yvonne went into palliative care.

What really lifted the spirits of Robertson, who grew up in Allambie Heights, was a visit to the hard-hit community by a Manly contingent led by coach Des Hasler which included superstar Tom Trbojevic and club legend Brett Stewart.

“I’ve been supporting Manly since I was five,” said Robertson, who has a Sea Eagle tattooed on his bicep.

“Mate, it just blew me away, I tell you.

“They flew up to Ballina and then they had to hire vehicles to get here.”

And he was really impressed with the way the Sea Eagles’ embraced the locals.

THE Manly crew put on some drinks at the Commercial Hotel and handed out a large amount of Sea Eagles merchandise to people who had been really suffering.

“I tell people about it and honestly it was just fantastic. They were all wonderful blokes,” Robertson said from his home town.

“And they gave away that much Manly gear it was unbelievable from little kids stuff to grown-ups.”

HOME VISIT

THE extent of the bushfire catastrophe really hit home to the Sea Eagles when they visited what remained of Robertson’s home in Rappville which was not insured.

“That was pretty emotional,” the retired 68-year-said.

“Those young guys Cade Cust and Lachlan Croker sat with me and we talked,” he said.

“People say Des Hasler is dry, but I tell you what he was touched by it all too I

MOVING EXPERIENCE

CROKER was clearly moved by the trip and said it put everything into perspective for him.

He got really upset by what he witnessed on the 90-minute car trip from Ballina to Rappville.

“It was hard to look at, seeing all the trees still covered in ash and no fences around and no livestock,” he said.

“People are whinging about the air quality down here, some people don’t know a real drama until they see one.”

When they arrived in Rappville he said the Sea Eagles wanted to make it a happy experience for the locals.

“It was really special and something I was so grateful to be part of and involved in.” the five-eighth said.

“I definitely got a lot out of it and hopefully they got something out of it too.”

Croker got a big kick seeing the smiles of the locals and said the Manly boys were smiling the whole time they were there.
