Dylan Walker - NSW Centre

i would pick wighton at centre with his running game and have fergo on the

I have heard various commentators say that centre is the hardest position on the field to defend and that a specialist centre should be selected. Even Stuart doesn't want Wighton to be picked there. With an explosive left side - Tedesco, Mitchell, Addo-Carr, Cordner & maybe Keary or Cody Walker, the main function of right centre will be defence & capitalizing on whatever breaks are made inside. Thus, I think experienced centres like Morris, Hopoate & Dylan Walker will likely be considered. I would probably prefer Cotric (way of the future) over Ferguson on the wing.

Dylan Walker negotiations are fascinating as they seem to be being conducted by Bob Fulton (who doesn’t work for Manly) and Wayne Beavis (who is not an agent)

Better be at a centre rate this time and not 600k, Bozo

I'd be happy to see Walker learn from this latest situation & cease all his off-field shenanigans, settle down, play his backside off for us for the rest of this season & be resigned on a long term contract with us.

He owes Manly a bit IMO, for standing by him through his court case & for missing so many games due to his own stupidity (broken hand, broken eye socket, court case) so if he shows signs of growing up for the rest of 2019 (& thereafter) then I'd he happy to keep him.

Not sure how many other clubs would be interested in him given the controversy around him. Too young for Super League..maybe worth a 2 year extension on lower coin if the powers that be think he can pull his socks up. Can certainly play when he's on and oozes X factor. I'm indifferent if he stays or goes tbh. If he goes we get someone comparably skilled and hopefully a bit more mature off field.

There would be clubs lining up for his services. He's a marquee centre.

Brent Read on Footy show said he did a ring around clubs about this very issue on Friday and the response was he was on the nose and the answer was either a firm NO or would consider it at about half his current contract.

Given the above I’d say there is a fair chance he will stay if Des wants him. Desperate rival coach at 300k isn’t exactly lining up and not something that would lure him away if he’s wanted. With a young family I wouldn’t think heading to UK at his age would be a consideration.

It’s up to him. Play hard and shut up and behave for a change and a career in the maroon and white is possible. Can’t be that hard can it.I expect a big one from him today. He is a seriously good player and no one can doubt his desire and energy so this is a perfect opportunity to make a statement to Penn, Des and the fans.

I guess this is what he gets for being innocent of a charge. Talk about mud sticking. FMD, poor guy.

On the nose for what?

Can someone make an accusation against Cooper Cronk? Actually, a few SOO QLD'ers while we are at it.

Yep he was not guilty mate. But look at his record of actually getting on to the field. Your example Cronk never misses a game. Only an idiot CEO would not take into account his prior drug issues, anger issues , and general reputation among other fans and particularly sponsors plus his inability to stay on the field when making a business decision.

He would be very close to the most unpopular bloke in the game. That’s not my judgement, it’s just a fact. Bring his name up in a footy chat and see the response.Hes right up there with Dugan and co believe me.

No ones making any great moral judgement here. It’s a business decision as Scott Penn has found out the hard way.Woukd you like to pay a senior employee a lot of money to work three days a week. It’s a business the NRL and that’s why he’s a discounted commodity right now and only he can change it.

I think his lack of options might be a good thing for us ,him and his young family. It allows some continuity of lifestyle for him and his family , stay around his mates and reflect on the fact that this is the last chance saloon and play like the champion player he is. That should be a sobering thought.I hope so.

I hope this all doesn't diminish his character though. Not talking to you here, but sick of a society that attempts to smother anyone that is outgoing in various ways, or different.

Not sure if you watched this week's player interviews, but he seems a very ,VERY popular character amongst the group.

Hope he surrounds himself with positivity and supporters.

Hopefully, he's been able to move from Prescott Ave - away from the house/neighbors where the incident occurred and also to a more inspiring part of the peninsula (no offence intended to anyone living in that part of Dee Why)

Sure we all want that. He’s a great asset in the team. Being different is being quirky , unique and still doing your job .. .... behaving badly is is not being “different “ mate .

Just hope he plays well and if he does have a blinder , try not to be too overtly cocky about it. It'll be hard for him though , he won't be able to resist the temptation to let everyone know considering the pressure he's been under.

I believe we should keep him as well. I also believe he should sign a cut contract. It's a bit hard to justify having a centre on 600k. I just hope he is on board for success of the team moving forward and not the money
