Dylan Walker Injury

I grew up in PNG so I love the place :inlove:

But one term I came back from boarding school half dead.
So we went to the hospital (shed) in Boroko from the airport.
The Doctor dropped the hypodermic needle on the dirt floor and picked it up to continue to inject me 😱

Dad almost decked him and Mum almost fainted.
So we left and I'm still alive :whew:

Hi HM

I too grew up in PNG (Rabaul) until I came to Sydney as a 12 year old for boarding school and never went back.

My memories were of paradise-like place and I went fishing basically every day after school. Thank God, I don't have any memories of the hospitals there but I do remember a couple of massive earthquakes and a mini-tsumani that flooded half the town in the 1970s.

Not good.

I suppose the upside in a situation like this is someone (or more than one player) from the 20's or reserves gets to fill the role in the pre-season. This is good for Manly and forces us to look for depth... Hopefully a star is born!

Or if you don't want to go backwards through that period, and sanke is spot on about Moylan (which I don't doubt), Moylan to centres, one of Cullen or Hastings to 5/8?
He's already shut that rumour down heavily on his instagram

I know, I was just making fun. He'll be good.

Rabauls all gone after that volcanic eruption a few decades ago 🙁

PNG was heaven on earth back in the 60s and 70s :inlove:

Sad that the lack if law and order has prevented more people enjoying the place. Most of the population is loving, happy people

Yes, it is gone but my memories are still there!

Aah, the weekly riots in the markets in Rabaul!! A few ratbags stirring everyone up but I think everybody was just having fun.

99% of the locals are beautiful people and like everywhere else, it is the other 1% that gets all the news.

With League being the national sport, how bad can it be?

When I heard that the PNG Hunters win today, all I could think of was the trucks filled with the Chimbus war cries and the Meris crying with joy :inlove:

Yes, there will be plenty of rough heads in PNG tomorrow morning. Hopefully not too much trouble tonight after a few too many celebratory drinks.

Great to see the Hunters win and look forward to seeing them play on GF Day. Manly under 20s, the Hunters and then the Cowboys winning (I hate the Scum) will make Sunday a magical day!!

From a guy on twitter call NRL Physio (worth a follow - very informative):
"Confirmed fractured fibula & dislocated ankle for Dylan Walker, will require surgery & 4-6 months recovery Start of '18 season is 5.5 months"

Depends on the ligaments and tendons. If they are still attached his rehab and return will be quicker, the bone will repair. I tore my ligaments off the bone and it ended my career (how brief it was!), point is mine still cause issues at age 56, if torn off, at best he is 70% chance off actually returning at all. I would not wish that one anyone, actually I could wish it to a few Melb players!

Is he back here for surgery ? i sure hope so or he could end up with a kidney attached to his dislocated ankle. I can’t believe such a major injury in a game not important enough to be even streamed.Un believable!!!
I hope there is no truth to the rumour that Greenturd is frocking up for surgery just to get an early start on trying to dis mantle our 2018 season

Wow what an experience that would have been.

Poor Dylan, what a disaster @ By the time its 'all said and done' it could end up wiping him out for 2018. At least he's got his young age on his side to help his recovery.

Will sure need his good mates Siro, Api and AFB for support, along with the other players and coaching/medical staff. Wishing him a full and speedy recovery...

Keep him away from Aaron grey and endone this time round the rehab scene

No room for hillbilly antics now he is an eagle
