Big year coming up for Burbo.
Then again the Schu - Burbo combo is good to watch when the passes stick.A huge 35 tackles for Ben v Souths and plenty of hit ups and a magical Try!
I’d say he’s cemented that spot in the back row, I couldn’t see the Shoe providing that good a defence
gardner was awesome , shame multiple knee recos finished him earlyReminds me of Daniel Gartner and Steve Menzies a tall running back rower.

Why Manly's second-row is built different with enormous selection call looming
Anthony Seibold has a big-money, big-consequence selection decision ahead.www.zerotackle.com
And use Brown off the bench he is too old for 80 minutesAgree. Play Schu at lock.
The Schurbo Factor. Then again the Schu - Burbo combo is good to watch when the passes stick.
Guess that Seibold and the coaching staff would still like to engage Shu [ if he can finally be match fit and offering something worthwhile ] in the pack and that could only probably result in coming on in the backrow for Burbo at some stage or stages
Even as good as Burbo seems to be going at present .
Then have to conscious with interchange timing in general and other possible scenarios .
Plenty of [ or sort of ] anticipation that the Shu can still make a positive difference , the how and when are the only imponderables unfortunately .
I'd love to see Shu doing this, and potentially reinventing himself like Dylan Walker did. But it still worries me - our defence is just horrendous when Jake and Croker are off. We need our props (or Shu) to step up the intensity massively for this to work.Schu coming on as replacement lock as teams tire could work. Perhaps he can put some effort into defence for shorter stints and won't have the make any complicated reads on the edge. Also, he could play inside out with TT quite nicely.
Ah now you've raised one of my more favoured players. Gene Miles. Like John McDonald, ex Manly in the late 60s, who was also a Queenslander and played many tests, he was big fast, intimidating. We almost had him and Lewis back in 1986. But then if they had come we would have missed out on Cliff Lyons and Michael O'Connor, and they helped us win the '87 grand final, so we did OK.You feel that burbo still has some growing to do as well. He will be a very big body after a few more years on the weights. He is pretty mobile and plays instinct footy. I still see him as a pat carrigan type once he develops . Big motor, takes a lot of stopping, and likes the ball
Reckon he could use his frame a bit like gene miles, just growing into first grade bit by bit
Lot of pressure on Schuster. it will help his cause if the rest of the pack continues to makes a contributionAh now you've raised one of my more favoured players. Gene Miles. I think potentially the Olakau'atu, Burbo, Schuster combination could be one of Manly's very best backrows, if Burbo continues to develop into what he looks likely to be and Schuster gets his s...t together..
