Does anyone else find it bonkers that we are 1 win away from 5th?

Yes it’s a tight competition, and even the top sides have faltered at times.

My view is that the top 3 will stay there , the Warriors have lost some important players and will drop & possibly Brisbane who have started to find some form will possibly complete the 4.

Of the rest only the sharks appear to have any hope of elevation into the 8 but will need to have one of the other sides start to falter to do that.

I think the fact we are 9th is a mystery , we are much worse than that.

Penrith are now on the rise, even if they finish 5th or 6th they'll be hard to beat and will be the first side to win outside of the 4.

We did smashed the ladder leading Raiders & Broncos by 28pts at home, beat Panthers by 16pts away. Lost to sharks by 6pts away and at home by 20pts, drags by 2pts at home, eels by 20pts away, knights by 4pts away, titans by 20pts away that's a possible 10-12pts we missed. Not all lost yet if we win this week by a good margins, bull at home by a good margins over bronc we'll jump bronc into 8th spots. Week after shark v dolp, drag v roost shark&drag at home will want to stay in touch with the 8th. So we'll jump roost&dolp with the bye into 6th with a better F/A. After our last bye only bronc, dolp, shark has a bye left, teams that we need to worry about. With the games left we can get the rooster, dolp, warr at home and the tige & drag away.

Even if we were in the top 4 there would be some on here still bitchin’

Just sayin’
Not me NEVER will, at least all my years from leaving the pubs memory will b a happy one instead of U F#####K## useless bunch of F****K every or 60% 70% of the time. So what I'm saying is I'd rather get the top4 every year and not win a comp than bottom4 or wooden spooners every year.

For those that were around during the northern eagles days … they were bleak years… I’m just glad that we have our name and colours back! I’m so glad that we didn’t end up like north Sydney!

When it comes to where we are on the ladder I look more towards where we are relative to the spoon, rather than how far we are from 5th to be honest.

Based on what i saw this and last week against weak and weakened teams, we won't make the finals.

But at the end of the day, we can only beat what is in front of us, and we are in the eight and get a rest. If we can get some troops back, there is hope.

Without a fully fit Paseka, Aloiai and Olakau'atu back in we're just treading water. It'll have to be a herculean effort from those mids TKO, Lodge, Bulle and Sipley to match any of the packs we're facing soon.

I think we are somewhere around the middle of the pack but we are not a particularly good football team…
To be blunt, other teams just play a better brand of footy…
I watched that game yesterday and the vermin were (are) shockingly bad… they actually reminded me of Manly these last few seasons - side-to-side footy that never really looked threatening…
Manly were leading 18-0 or 24-0 with half an hour to go and looked absolutely gassed…
I knew the vermin were going to get scoring opportunities because we had had all the ball but looked gone…

Yeah I hear you m. Every game I seem to be yelling at the TV do they actually train during the week

Ok, so we’re in 8th on 20 points, currently 4 teams on 20 points.

Anyone going to say what the cut off for the eight will be? 30 - 32 points? Either would be a fair guess at this stage, maybe 28 but I doubt that.

If we work on 30, Manly need to win 4 of their last 8 to finish with 30 points, working on from the bye this weekend.

Here’s the task, find 4 wins, who knows maybe we can get away with 3 if the comp remains tight and the cut is 28, (I don’t see that) if anything I think there’s a greater possibility 32 will be the number, if so you will need to find 5 wins.

I feel certain 5 wins would all but guarantee a place in the 8, albeit in a sudden death week 1. I’d take that at this stage, anyway here’s hoping, we’re still alive in season 25.

Rd 19 Bye 22 points
Rd 20 Storm Away
Rd 21 Dogs Away
Rd 22 Rooster @ Home
Rd 23 Raiders Away
Rd 24 Tigers Away
Rd 25 Dolphins @ Home
Rd 26 Dragons Away
Rd 27 Warriors @ Home
