What annoys me the most is that we have a team who should be up 3 & 0.....not the opposite. Talent wise I think we have a great team, even accounting for injuries, but the boys are not playing as a team. It’s not a happy team, a united team. It seems a broken team. A team looking for someone to guide them, someone to lead them when things get tough, someone to inspire them. Coach & Captain must step up! Too many fvcking excuses!!!! I refuse to listen to the same commentary by the media & supporters every year about our lack of depth etc. Comparing our players to those of other teams I can only see the equal of or better than most teams. Sure some players are out of form but it appears as the boys are lacking confidence in both attack & defence. They seem hesitant in everything they do. Tom coming back will not change much. It’ll help but attitude & confidence needs to change. The coaching staff need to start dropping out of form players, use players in their correct positions, stop taking short cuts & hoping for the best. Start taking a risk & utilise our depth players. Players such as Harper, Funa, Tuipulotu, Koula, Olakau’atu, Saddler, S Fainu. Don’t give me this $hit that players are not ready. If you’re good enough then you’re ready. It’s time to inject youth! Other teams do it yet we refuse to & this is what we get at the end of the day.....a broken, low on confidence group of players. Youth brings energy & enthusiasm! Schuster is a prime example & Olakau’atu also when given a chance. Yes we might cop some losses but it could be the complete opposite & we start our winning ways again. The supposedly tried & true players have had most of last year & this year to perform....some have & many have not. Des needs to start coaching again & not rely on past glories. Walker should be alongside Suli as our centre pairing. I feel Suli plays with more confidence with Walker alongside. Maybe a stint in reserves might bring the beast out of Suli? Harper to FB until Tom is back. Our forwards are having a dig but seem to lose their mojo & will when all their hard work is undone by bumbling backs. The foundations are there for a very successful side.....even this year! It’s not too late to turn this around!!!! So much more to say but will leave it at that.

I too wonder where all Hasler’s Fire & brimstone has gone.
It’s like he’s gotten into calming psychotherapy or been medicated for the players safety.

Serenity now! Serenity now!

What is that?

Des Hasler- Doctor gave me a relaxation cassette. When my blood pressure gets too high, the man on the tape tells me to yell, 'Serenity now!'
Serenity now - insanity later

Obviously is is now later with insanity taking control

Even the breathing corpse Wayne Bennett can learn to adjust at 71 years old, surely Des (11 years younger) can learn as well. Yeah, I know the Rabbits have got a shiit hot team of players, but still, surely Des can see he has stagnated way back to the year 2011.(obviously not going on @Jethro s stats)

Maybe Des isn't well. Can coaches be medically retired?
The trouble for us fans is that there seems to be no light at the end of this tunnel. Every week we're expecting to get smashed and we do. It's so disheartening.
If our form or selections haven't changed by round 10 Dessie should go. As for the club I'm absolutely sick of the social media posts publicising our losses. Don't bother. It's embarrassing.
It might be time for members to demand an open forum.
I'll never stop being a Sea Eagle but this is as bad as I've ever seen it, including Northing Eagles.
At the moment, if things don't change from Des, the only 2 points we will get will be Round 13. Surely we can win that one.

After watching his Manly side crash to a third consecutive loss at WIN Stadium on Friday night, defiant Sea Eagles coach Des Hasler declared: “We will dig our way out of this, you watch.”

edit: no shooting the messenger...lol...gulp
One way of digging our way out of this is digging out the weak weeds from the team and making some team changes Including putting Dylan in the centres where he plays his best

Was good to see the fire is still alive in Des. Lack of emotion was concerning. He certainly fired them at HT and was giving to them at full time. Making sure they know there is plenty to improve on and not just accept and be happy with a close loss to Penrith.

He would have been saying “this was your chance to show the NRL that you are in the running this year and you blew it by not having a good first half and silly mistakes. The game was there for the taking and we blew it”.

Also telling the forwards to pull their fingers out and run and tackle with venom - certainly worked on Sipley and Marty. They all had a real dig in that second half and without the errors and some better goal kicking we could have won.

Des seems to be back to his good old self. Maybe the reason our fortunes have turned around.
Yes....That, and selecting the right players in the seventeen has helped a little bit as well. Obviously Turbo has played a minor role also.

We are so close to being a gun team. A new hooker, a new winger, a few less mistakes from Jake et al, more effort in the first 20 minutes and we are there.

Des is also coaching Manly 2.0 very well. May that continue.

Keeping the team as is and not bringing back the usual suspects is so important right now.

Watch the end of the Press conference tonight from Des. Magic :D

Assuming its Dean Ritchie - another hollow nobody leeching off the game for his grift.

He accuses Des of being boring in the press conference, and Des slams him 'Maybe you should have asked better questions Dean' as he walks away.

Love ya Des :)

When?
Can’t see that on the NRL website press conference. Where’d you hear it?

Good work Des.

All most certain Dean will write a negative report on Manly now.

Some Bloke will get arrested at the casino after the game and Dean will report that Manly players were seen in the area but will leave it to the last paragraph to mention that they were nearby on Thursday.
