I agree Bozo .....the likes of DCE have slipped BUT I think it’s a reflection of players around him.
Using DCE as an example, all teams put pressure on him , knowing that there is no one else in our team that can hurt them. If they rush up at DCE, who can he give the pill to for a clearing kick or who can damage the opposition, absolutely no one...
So they rush up and turn him back inside..if he passes to Suli, Parker, Goseeski, Sirro, Walker from fullback, Nothing.
In years gone by he could give the ball to either Stewart, Lyons, Matai, etc and had Foran as an alternative if they pressured him, the opposition had to cover our whole backline so couldn’t afford to concentrate on DCE
We don’t have the cattle and this is affecting Jake DCE etc....hopefully 2022 will start with a first grade team not an A grade side and then we will see our stars back in form...

I understand what you are saying but Des still has quality around DCE with the likes of Walker , Jake < Kappow , Foz , Paseka , Schuster and has not been able to lift their game along with the others
The fact is Des has not been able to lift his team in the past 12 thrashings
He cannot even get his team to compete let alone win a game

Great people are great not because they pull excuses out of their arse

Gotta say they play like a fractured playing group. I cannot see any unity or grit. I suspect there are a number of unhappy players. Unsurprising when you see poor performing players selected each week. Sends a poor message to fringe first graders. We do not use our top 30 and that approach is seriously flawed. If they are not good enough for first grade why the heck are they filling a top 30 spot. The joint is broken.

Looking at the player contract thread....10 of the first geade squad havent been re-signed past 2021...and the majority of those are the ST whipping boys. ..things will improve.

Offloading taupau will allow us to pick up one more established good first grader. But apart from that we will be relying on juniors and discards . We basically need all 3 of our highest paid guys playing great footy at the same time to come back.

We need them at their best and on the field.

Excuses. Des needs to make the best of what you’re got nit make selections to make a point to the owners. Reserve graders loose interest when they see no opportunity ahead.

I fear you have nailed it , there’s something very very broken at present ( or a combination of brokens).

2021 is set to be a watershed year for the Sea Eagles.

Very possibly our worst year in 75 years.

So the clubs actions later in the year in relation to recruitment is going to tell us a lot about wether the owners / coaching staff are working together.

At a minimum at least 6 of the current 30 need to be ****ed off.

Time will tell!!
