DCE 350

It’s really interesting how the media have turned on the Chaser, it just took one shambolic game.

Karma is indeed a bitch and Karma has come to bite D$E well and truly on the arse.

I said from the very moment he made his announcement, whoever guided him ( maybe only himself) to do what he did back then made a very very grave error of judgement.

What’s that saying “ you make your bed and then have to lay in it “!!!

I have a suspicion that he was feeling a little overly confident in his own form after a decent first month of results. Smirking his way through his TV appearance, assuming he would be the in-demand halfback of the NRL and Captain of QLD by season's end.

Maybe now he understands that it was always just as much about the work of everyone around him, as it was about his own abilities.

As you say, karma is a b*tch. He goes rogue, his teammates clock off, and as a result, he tanks. The justice system of the universe is almost beautiful if it wasn't so brutal - especially for a Manly supporter!

Spot on, but NRL360 spin it as a “toxic environment” for poor DCE.

I’m a ticketed member and i won’t be going to this game. not necessarily out of spite towards DCE but more that the team doesn’t deserve my support. But suffice it to say, if DCE was a more worthy recipient of my praise, I’d be going for sure. For example when Jake retires i will be there RAIN HAIL OR SHINE no matter how the team is going. I suspect i won’t be the only one.

Well it is a rare occurrence for a CEO to picked sides with a coach over a number like 3 of your clubs highest paid players.

That's suggests there is more than just coaching ability at play.

I'm happy if Mestrov has said I'll keep Seibs, thanks DCE, oh and by the way your number for a new contract remains at $700k.

If you think a player and there manager only position themselves as best they can in the media, I doubt it.

If you think back Toovs being on the outer, it also happened to coincide with DCE contact negotiations. The backflip only after Bozo was brought in as Manager and Barrett was hired.

Seibs may not be the Coaching messiah, but he leaves Barrett in his dust.

As for the Turtle, history will judge him with time, lets see what the mentality of this team is like once the Captain exits perhaps.

On the flip side, yeah this club and Long term players. Beaver is the only one I can think of who had a great fare well.

Even Cliffy had many last seasons, only to get a call to go around again when the club failed to recruit a half decent half.

They've already got your money, being there or not matters nothing to them.

Yes, but it will be a telling sign if Brookie is not full. I'd also imagine there will be a few signs held by the crowd that will be anything but glowing of DCE. I particularly like one poster's suggestion of holding up a $50 note at the seven minute mark.

I was never going to go to this game anyway but if I had tickets I'd still stay home.
I understand the sentiment and I have no interest in "celebrating" his 350 games. But I'll still be going coz I feel I owe it to the players that ARE putting in. Players like Koula are really trying hard and I would hate to have him start thinking maybe it's time to try get out.

I’m pretty sure Cliffy would still be running around if the club let him. Champion.

I know they have to churn out this crap, nonetheless, vomit inducing stuff from Garrick.

From Nico Nicolussi, SMH:

Is DCE a spent force? Not according to the teammate who knows him best

By Christian Nicolussi

One of Daly Cherry-Evans’ best friends and teammates says the Manly players owe it to their skipper to make sure they mark his 350th game with a win on Saturday, and insists he “still has the drive and hunger to play on next year”.

Debate has raged over whether Cherry-Evans will retire or play on with the Sydney Roosters next season – or whether the Roosters still have an appetite to sign him at all, given the veteran’s patchy recent form and the rise of their young half Hugo Savala.
