Will the team sabotage his 350 by tanking as payback, just like he sabotaged and derailed the team's season by going on 100% footy? Thoughts?
I personally would love a victory only to keep our season alive, but if the player's feel different because of DCE's actions, I won't begrudge them.

About 3.10pm on Saturday we’ll know , you can tell very quickly if they are on or off.

To distill all the chatter about DCE, for me he went on 100% Footy and said I don't want to play for Manly anymore.
He may have a valid reason but as a loyal supporter for over 50 years , and a supporter of DCE over his detractors for his career with us , I am mighty pissed off. It just proved he's not one of us, a fan. He's a mercenary, a narcissist and in my opinion a fool for damaging his legacy.
I feel betrayed. For a player to play for one club for 15 years and then announce he will play on but not at the club that we love, is downright nasty.
I don't care anymore if he doesn't get on with the coach or the CEO or the owner, he's dead to me

Trouble is it’s a coin toss , they might jag a win at home , or they might lay over and get an absolute whooping 50+

I have zero interest in celebrating anything for DCE.

I won't boo him, but I also won't cheer him.

It's disgraceful what he's done to the club, if it really is in response to not getting a shiny new big $ contract &/or his opinion of the coach. Very unprofessional attitude.

There’s still time to sort of fix it but you and I both know he won’t.

I’d call a press conference , eat humble pie, admit he did the wrong thing , apologise to the fans thanking them for their support for 15 years , and announce that he’s retiring from the game as his body is broken.

And yes I’ve accepted an offer to go to the football department of the Roosters from 2026 plus I’ll be also be commentating on Channel 9.

If he did that now ( next 24 hours ) , in a Manly shirt , wife by his side , coach & CEO on the same table, I for one would have some empathy.

And I’m sure others would too.

I'll be there and will cheer him and applaud. It is the sporting and courteous thing to do. Whatever you think about the manner of his leaving, to turn your back would be churlish in the extreme. Like it or not, it is a professional code and he has behaved like a professional sportsman. I wish it didn't finish like this but that's how it is. I remember Brookie booing Rowdy Shearer in 1990 when the Broncos played there. Now Rowdy is remembered fondly. Rightly so. I hope that can happen with Daly one day.

Then there is the confusing part where he says he is a private person, and instead of just letting manly/mestrov know he was done and would be leaving so manly could plan for a halfback without him, he goes on tv.

He had motives, and number 1 was to make him look good between the 2 over the breakup, followed by saying the obligatory nice things about the club while in the same sentence throw them under the bus and get smashed by some media.

Private people don’t aspire to have television media careers in the public eye.

Do you know what would be better than applause or booing? Complete silence so that you wouldn't even hear a tumbleweed rolling past. That would show to him that people aren't bothered rather than the ****show media circus that he created. Do a presentation to him before the game.... just silence, no booing, no clapping just silence. Like we don't hate you DCE, we're ambivalent. Now **** off to the roosters

Agree. Turning your backs in silence would be the go, BUT, I don’t think it would be fair on his family that will no doubt accompany him out onto the ground. His kids have done nothing wrong. And that would be a very cruel moment for them.

I have been an outspoken DCE "hater"/critic for many years, but booing, or even turning my back in silence, is just not something I would ever do.

We are still all human at the end of the day, and whilst I can't wait for him to leave Manly, this would be a piss poor way of sending off any long-serving player, regardless of how much I have grown to dislike him.

His family don't deserve it, no one does really, and the fact is, that the NRL world will be watching - do we really need any more negative press? Let's do the classy thing and all give a loud cheer (besides, no one will know that our cheers could secretly be for seeing the back of him anyway!)

Chez, you're a dick. But you're still young and I hope you learn and grow from your mistakes, just as all of us must do in our own lives. I see a lot of posters giving there feelings and transferring them into DCEs words and actions.
One thing is clear he said he wanted the Club to prepare for his leaving by investigate for a replacement. So if he said he make up his mind November 2025 what half back would we have signed. Certainly not fogerty, he would have resigned or found another Club.
Maybe DCE was sick of Penn/Seibold. Maybe he can still remembers how Penn treated him over contract negotiations in 2015.
I see so much criticism re Dalys performances. I believe the availability of forwards and lack of real depth in that area would make any hb look ordinary.
