Long term growth of the game fundamentally depends on free to air coverage. NOT pay TV coverage. To grow the game, we need the masses watching the game, talking about the game. Well done the NRL on this first growth objective - by increasing free-to-air content. And for listening to the fans about scheduling.

The NRL still has years to negotiate the remaining 4/5 games and the streaming rights. And they're in no worse a position now to negotiate than before. Absolutely no need for panic.

Of course Rupert is hysterical about things not going his way. And of course he uses his media to spruke his lies. Just think back to his Super League lies, or Brett Stewart lies, or to any political issue, to find the truth of how he ruthlessly manipulates public opinion for his profit.
