He has noticeably bulked up this season but he was heavily targeted in defence by the Storm, especially NAS,and they made plenty of ground through the middle. He’s stood out against the ordinary and under strength teams, which covers about 12 clubs, but I’m not convinced it’s a tactic to use against the Storm again.
I thought he was our best against storm. NAS is just a behemoth mate, most struggle to contain him. In Des we trust

Walker had the most missed tackles in that match.NAS had 13 hit ups and I suspect 12 were directly at Walker.I just think another approach will be needed if they play again this season, obviously cutting out the errors is the first approach

I hear you mate but i dont think the tactics will change. Des could pull a fast one if we make the GF

He was our best player against Melbourne. The tactic has long term viability IMO.

The news of Western Force having just signed our talented young centre Daniel Ala has got me thinking...

With Funa gone, Suli gone (unofficially), Taufua gone (most likely not re-signed), there seems to be a serious lack of depth in our outside backs stocks heading into next season. Given Garrick, Saab, Parker and Harper have done admirably well this season, the slightest injury toll will see the blooding of Koula and Tuipulotu. But ... that's it.

Assuming Bullemor signs, Walker re-signs, and Saddler, Sione Fainu, and De Luis are offered a contract for next season, we will have 2 spots remaining in our top 30, and 1 guaranteed spot in our development squad. I also note that our best performing juniors ready to make the big step up seem to be hooker/half types, with Cameron Brown the only obvious speedster who was recently elevated (possibly filling in the remaining D.C.?). With talk of Garner and others, I hope the club locks in 2 outside backs, one of which must be a specialist winger - not much quality on the market, not much coming through the juniors as of yet. Quite a hole to fill imo. Anyone have a possible solution/recommendation of someone I'm missing?

Cheers
Go Manly
id keep suli or get a centre that has some flair
but main priority would be to get a gun prop. Marty is good but really is not a top 5-8 prop in the comp, probably not even that close to top 10, if fainu comes back all we are really missing is a main man in the middle

and maybe a good centre.

I could even see garrick playing centre for a while if we had a gun winger, what if koula did really well...

Even if Marty leaves and we signed say Woods I think our props are fine. Keppie and Paseka will only get better, Aloiai coming into his prime, Bullemore is a genuine star among others. Bullemore will be the signing of the year.

I agree with a strike centre, preferably one that could be a back up fullback.

I’m unsure about this... look at all the premiership winners - they’ve had a gun prop

Melbourne have 4 props who probably sit within the top 20, Welch then Bromwich NAS and Kamikamica

Chooks had JWH when they won comps
Sharks Fifita
Etc

Penrith now how JFH
Eels have Paulo & RCG
Raiders Tapine & Papalii

All have 1-2 props who often step up in the big games and dominate

Bullemore played Centre in his rugby union days but then again so did SBW and Sam Burgess. Inside Centre in rugby these days is a ‘big fast fella’, a great defender who straightens the attack, can break through the attack and offload.

He’s apparently the second fastest at the Broncos so maybe the ‘Mad Professor’ wants a player like that in his back line. Then again maybe he just wants more speed in the forwards.

Bulls are a feeder to Bears who are a feeder to Storm.
Had a run in Reggie's with Bears in round 3,guess they are looking at him....
