Our average crowd at brookie this year was a new record.

Our aggregate for the year was up almost 10K from last year to 189K for the season (including the 19K at SCG)

If we can make the big one i would expect early crowds next year to be on par with the last 2 weeks

Check the maths

11 games at brookie, 1 at SCG

189/12 = 15,750, the brrokie average was 15,500

We could have smashed the record if the 2 Friday night games against the Tigers/Storm were played on better nights as far as the weather was concerned.

Even Friday night's game could have had a bigger crowd if the weather was favourable. I know a few people who stayed away because of the forecast.

The game was so good I didn't notice my suit getting wet in the rain.

It looks even better when you think that there have only ever been 20 crowds of over 20k at Brookie till last Saturday night.

In the 70s and 90s I think Manly fans took it for granted and we expected to win - not the high level of excitement of now.

The darkness of the past 10 years have produced a new brand of supporter who will go out to support the team with the hope we may one day return to the glory days. Expectation is rising - we have been down and out for so long.

That's an interesting stat CW. 20 is much lower than I would have thought.

(BTW how about updating the tipping when you get a minute)

It's interesting that the last time we had over twenty thousand was in 1997. A long time between drinks. I predict that the twenties will be a regular occurance in the future on a saturday night. The only dark cloud on the horizon will be the Monday night fixtures. I can only hope we get none of those. Who will go to those?

Monday nights will be a financial disaster for Manly. As a season tix holder it will most unlikley that I will be able to attend yet I will be paying for who knows how many MNF games because the NRL refuse to release the draw before the season starts.

There will only be three next year? So we will be involved in one at the most?
