RE: The Thompson spill off the Tuilagi kick - it was ruled that the pass back to Gildart brushed Maumalo's hand constituting a knock-on.
Watching the Titans it seemed like their strategy was to give Kelly good early ball and just let him conjure up something. That left hand side has been very potent for the Gold Coast of late but I think they really missed having Fermor out there. Not only is he was one of their best players but it also allows the Gold Coast to have David Fifita play on the right side which makes the defensive line far more honest.
They also needed a lot more out of Sexton tonight. Hopefully that play at the death fills him with confidence, he's got the talent, he just needs to find his voice and play some eyes up footy. I didn't think it was a good look that the Titans kept turning to Isaako or Wallace to come up with plays. One has only been at the club for a week, he wouldn't know all the structures and his instructions should be as simple as possible. I like that Wallace has developed his passing game, but I don't think they utilised it well tonight.
Still they get away with one. Big game next week against Parra, they're going to have to switch on.
